Sitting at the VFW and a younger gentleman asks “what’s your favorite whiskey Sir”.  Well, that is a good question.  I asked him if he knew Whiskey.  Looking at me with a puzzled, he answered without speaking.  Two hours and several glasses of “Whiskey” later we parted ways.  I truly enjoy good “Whiskey” and helping others to understand it so they to my enjoy it!!

That said, to pick one would be difficult.  But, Breckinridge Bourbon is always on my Bar!

What’s on yours???

Depends on my mood and what I might be dining or snacking on. I like variety

Whisky, What's your go to?

Whisky tends to not "sit" well with me therefore my Whisky go to is probably jail. Tequila is even worse.

When I used to drink it The Balvenie or Aberlour single malt scotch.

I have never had a drink of any kind of hard liquor in my life, and therefore, I am unable to contribute an opinion on this topic. ^_^

I don't often drink these days, and when I do it is typically beer. Perhaps a glass of wine if Mrs. Doc and I are at a nice dinner. At a cocktail party or bar function, I'll typically have a vodka and tonic (I now highly recommend Tito's). When I do decide to have whiskey, I opt for Glenfiddich or Jameson, depending on my mood.

Howdy,

Lots of answers to this question.

For a not to expensive bottle to have around, Cutty Sark is a fair choice.

Spend a bit more for Basil Hayden...

And on and on.

Best

Some interesting stuff called Pappys.....

Jameson Black Barrel

This is obviously the whiskey that's referred to in the line "God made whiskey so that the Irish wouldn't rule the world"

Four Roses Small Batch Select is the best commercial whiskey IMO. a $55 bottle that rivals $200+ bottles.

for a lighter mood, Nikka Coffey Grain

If I’m fishing or want to feel like a sailor, anything Ardbeg

At the average bar, Bushmill's or Jameson's are always a safe bet.

Bushmill's Black Bush is pretty good and their 10 year old single malt is very good.

India's Amrut and Paul John are also good single malts
