Cowtown Scout, SASS #53540 L
It has been my main match shotgun for many years now. Started stock but then got Lassiter to tune it and do the two drop and it works great now. You must work at it to learn how to shoot it, not an easy task. My third is a Norinco with Lassiter's action job. The junk 87s have PW-87 engraved on the left side of the receiver. Reverend P. Babcock Chase
Howdy 87ers, I have a Chinese 87 worked on by Happy Trails years ago. It has always given me fits. Just now I'm starting to experiment with shorter roll crimped shells. If it goes well I'll be using it more to shoot Classic Cowboy. No drop 2, but that may happen if it works with the shorter shells. It's awful cold up here in New England, so my testing is on hold until things warm up a bit. Rev. H. K. Uriah, SASS #74619
I have no pics or videos of me using them, and while I am normally a 97 guy, I do use my 87's from time to time. 87 #1 is a real Winchester with a 30" full choke barrel. (Of course) Although it's black powder only, it's a lot of fun to shoot. 87 #2 is a Chiappa in "Terminator 2" configuration. You might wanna call it a "Mare's Leg Shotgun." Technically not allowed under SASS rules for some reason, but but still a lot of fun to shoot at local clubs that will let you. And here's a pic of the Winchester with some other things. The 87 is just plain fun to shoot.

Chase Another pard here east of the Hudson once told me that the Chinese 87s are nearly perfect copies of the oiriginals, which were built for 2.5" shells. You will probably find that the shorter shells will work better. I know that even though my Winchester has had it's chamber lengthened to 2.75", it works much better with Magtech 2.5"s than it does with AA's. My Chiappa on the other hand, digests 2.75" shells with no problem, but occasionally stovepipes the shorter shells. Go figure. BTW, Reverend, you said you are from New England. Have we me? 1 1
Blind Squirrel
I just bought an IAC on GunBroker. I plan on contacting Lassiter and having him work it over, then I want to use it as my main shotgun.

Curly Pete
I have been shooting a Lassiter tuned Chiappa as my main match shotgun for about 3 years now, it is the only shotgun I use. Last summer I was at a monthly match and a gentleman that normally shoots a SxS was using his Coyote Cap IAC 1887, at one point in the match he got so frustrated that he said "I hate this damn gun, I am going to sell it." and that is how I got my backup '87. We were both happy at the end of the day. Curly
Jimmy Reb, SASS #54804
I have been using my IAC for years. It is bone stock. Broke a pin on the lever once. At the Maine state, on the last shot of the last stage. Pin replaced. has been working fine ever since.

Driftwood Dan SASS #62738L
I have been using my Coyote Cap 87 for many years, but then again, I most often hold up the bottom of the posse list for times. When they work, they work but when there is a problem.... don't ask. I had this Lazer work done on the stock. It didn't help with my speed. Sasparilla Groz
I just got this original 1887. Made in 1895. It has been reworked at some point in its life. It is almost too pretty to shoot...I haven't figured out if I am going to modify it or just stare at it....
