Next Thursday morning, Shotgun Schoolmarm will undergo surgery for a ruptured disc in her lower back.

I’ve been hounding her to see a doctor because she has been experiencing pain in her legs and lower back for some time now and serious problems with her posture and sleep.

She has finally taken action and all of the preliminary preparations have been made.  They say that she’ll be home by Friday if all goes well and should be right with the world in a few weeks!

Y’all give her a good thought if ya’s can spare it!!

Prayers heading south from this side of the Medicine Line.

Make sure you look after her right while she recovers.

She must be near Sainthood to have been taking care of you all this time and puttin' up with ya!

(Enough abuse for YOU?)

Right now, it’s just sit and wait.  They took her off of some of her cancer meds because they lower the white blood cell count.  She’s not been sleeping very well and can’t get and stay comfortable.

We’re counting the days…

I WILL keep everyone informed!

O Lord Jesus Christ our God, Who did patiently endure the scourging and wounding of Your most holy Body, that You might save the souls and bodies of Your people, look graciously, we beseech You, upon the suffering body of this Your servant and give her strength to endure patiently whatsoever You shall see fit to lay upon her. Bless the means employed for the working out of her cure, granting that she may so endure her sufferings in the flesh that the wounding of her body may be to avail for the correcting and salvation of her soul, for Yours it is to show mercy and to save, O Christ our God; and to You do we send up Glory, as to Your Eternal Father and Your All‑Holy, Good and Life‑creating Spirit, both now and ever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.

Only two more days ‘til she goes for her surgery! I sense a little apprehension along with a lot of anticipation!

Friday night, we went to see my youngest grandson perform in a play at the high school. We would have gone to all three performances, but she was miserable the rest of the night and all of the next day!  It’s things like that and the fact that we’re used to traveling long distances and we can’t if she’s hurting all the time!

Thanks, everyone, for your kind words and good wishes and prayers!

As for me, I’m usually the one getting the work done! I’ve never really worried about stuff like this when it’s me getting needed repairs. I figure it’s not gonna be any worse and I’m fairly durable so long as we get the work done.

I ain’t used to sitting and waiting.  If I ain’t down, I’m the one fixing whatever’s broken.

Same here. It’s tough when it’s not you going through the pain and the process. You want to fix it.

I started PT for my back. Doc is hoping this will help vs surgery. I think I will end up in surgery at some point.

Prayers up for Shotgun Schoolmarm. I hope all goes very well.

Today’s the day!  Checking in now and tap dancing through all the paperwork, redundant questions, and the co-pays.

I’ll let everyone know what transpires.  Thanks again, everyone!!
