Trailboss (Santa) Dave Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Back a few years ago I worked in a gun shop. We sold, guns, remanufactured ammo, cast bullets & worked on guns. We had many costumers would bring us their guns they cleaned and when done it just did not work right. After we re-cleaned them and remover the W-D40 the guns worked like a champ.
Lucky R. K. Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 The only way you will have a problem with WD-40 is if you use too much. It can actually stick parts together if applied too heavily. I have used it ever since I first found it and have had no problems with it. Lucky

Tom Bullweed Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 The other problem with WD-40 or other airborne silicon-based lubes is that it will cause defects during the coating process of Duracoat or many other finshes. I f you do not plan to coat a gun or other critical surface, no problem, but having silicates in the air will cause fisheyes and volcanoes in the fresh coats.
