  1. I believe that would have been Texas Gunslinger, a fine gunsmith and even finer man.
  2. From a post on the website "Shotgun World". https://www.shotgunworld.com/threads/1883-h-s-brown-machine-gun-shotgun.214359/ H.S. BROWN MACHINE GUN. . "Trade Brand Name" shotgun. A "Trade Brand Name shotgun is one that was made by a major maker for and sold by a wholesaler or retailer who chose the name to go on the gun. This gun was made by the Crescent Fire Arms Company of Norwich,CT (1892 to 1931) and I'm sorry but I have not been able to determine who the seller was but I suspect it was some one named Brown. The Machine Gun part of the name does not mean an automatic firing weapon but means that the gun was made on machinery as opposed to being made by hand. If you will furnish the serial number, I can give you an approximate date the guns was made. Value? Everyone wants to know. The value of these old guns depends on the condition, the amount of original finish remaining on the metal and wood as well as the mechanical condition. For one that appears to have come out of the factory yesterday afternoon the value might be as high as $175 while a rusty rotten incomplete piece of junk might bring $10 for parts.
  3. I might be mistaken, but I don't think individuals can ship BP ammo.
  4. When you pointed the gun at the target and misfired, you engaged that target. You should not have been given a P for that, only a miss.
  5. When I started reloading in about 1999 SPP were $60 for 5000. LPP were $75
  6. You're right. I just went and read it again. But it used to be that for a SDQ he time was listed as 998 IIRC.
  7. Never mind, I was mistaken.
  8. Here's one that auctioned a couple of months ago at $1287 https://www.rockislandauction.com/detail/2056/810
  9. So sad to hear of this. From Billy's post it is evident that he had been sick a while. A good man, a good friend, a good cowboy. Heaven shines a little brighter today.
  10. I'm going to have to get up to Misery one day and shop.
  11. Today known as the model 10, here's a history of that revolver. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smith_%26_Wesson_Model_10 https://www.legacy-collectibles.com/smith-wesson-victory-revolver-u-s-property-1214.html
  12. Might consider a Rossi or Taurus copy. I have a stainless Rossi and it's a fun gun. Eats everything I feed it.
  13. Saw this one on a Texas Hunting site. Beautiful specimen, don't know if it fits you budget. The sellers location is just about 15 miles north of Dallas. https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/8622549/winchester-62a-nice-and-a-97-in-16ga#Post8622549
  14. Under new Management Located on the corner, but doing business on the square
  15. Looks like owned at one time by Shaddai Vaquero?
  16. From that 3rd site listed by Cholla. "Only 250 of these were made. 180 of the 250 had unfluted cylinders. Rare in that this is one of the few that were fluted (70). "
  17. That would another fine SASS shooter, and son in law, Texas Rick O'shay (TRO). He is with the Parker County Sheriffs Department.
  18. His alias is Two Gun Johnny, fighting out of Weatherford, Texas. I feel certain he is too modest to ever mention this. And he might be miffed at me for doing so. Anyway, it helps to know that prior to joining the Police Department John was a EMT for the Fire Department. Here is the press release from the Weatherford PD. Way to go, Officer Welborn. I'm proud of being your friend and humbled in your presence. Officer John Welborn was recognized by Weatherford ISD School Board for his life saving efforts during the past school year. On April 19, 2022 SRO Welborn was at work early before the day started, when a medical emergency was reported at the school. Welborn responded immediately, along with other school faculty, and performed CPR while waiting for an AED. Welborn was recognized for helping to save the student's life and we couldn't be more proud!
  19. Head to your local Trap\Skeet\Sporting Clays facility. Since you don't want the premium hulls, AA's and STS's. there will be hundreds available.
  20. Great club just outside magnolia. Maybe 30 minutes from you? https://thunderriverrenegades.com/ And a complete list of SASS clubs in Texas from the SASS website. https://www.sassnet.com/clubs/Clubs_list.php?state=Texas
  21. Was that one 'verified' by Robert Wilson?
  22. Yessir, knew that. But as you had already made that point I saw no reason to chew the cud twice. Was merely pointing out another reason as to why I would consider this fruitless.
  23. Thanks! I'm downloading now. Are all of those other titles free PDF's as well? Never mind, answered my own question.
