The old SASS scoring system which factored in a sort of handicap that occasionally allowed someone to win over a shooter with a faster time. Folks howled passionately for pages for years about rank points vs total time to determine winners. Rank points were finally abolished, but I can’t remember when.
Cold Lake Kid, SASS # 51474 Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 Rank Points are awarded at matches, when the shooter hasn't bathed for a while and; 1) The RO/TO has to stand upwind. 2) All the spotters and the scorekeeper also seek positions upwind. 3) Maximum points can be earned if the shooter can also clear people farther away, say from the Loading and of Unloading tables.

All jokes aside, the World Shooting Complex is a fabulous facility. There are twelve dedicated bays to shoot CAS with high berms and easy access. They also have hundreds of camping sites and bath and shower facilities. I’ve been there many times and STILL haven’t seen the whole place! The only negative at this point is a lack of hotel/motel facilities really close by. It’s far more centrally located, geographically, and there are numerous permanent on site facilities that can be used for related activities!!
