No religious holiday, no equinox, it actually means nothing. It is just a continued day by day turn of the earth. 2021 means nothing except for taxes and other financial things. We have a whole new generation that thinks socialism is a good thing. We have put up with public figures on t.v., and in the movies, and in congress, and on the playing field, that are disrespecting the office of the President, and the flag that represents what we all want, need, and deserve. The ideas, and the words, are pure and true, even if the people that penned them were not perfect. We remove public things that remind us of the mistaken ideas that generations past once had, and thus we cannot use them as a teaching tool, to tell our children, and grand-children, about those past mistakes, and incorrect ways of thinking. Let's remove them, hide them, and pretend it did not happen, then we can all hold hands, and sing kum-bye-yaa, and be blissfully ignorant. Some want to defund the police, and send in social workers to try and reason with people that would kill you just to watch you die. Some want freedom from religion, and to rely on imperfect humans to guide us. Some want to have the government run your life from cradle to grave. I did not predict that 2021 would be better than 2020 in my previous post. 2021-2024 may very well be even more aggravating due to the reasons you note. But the problem remains that there are plenty of people who don't like this country (but won't leave) or the seeming millions who are apathetic and won't or can't be bothered to learn something of value and understand what it takes to really and truly make progress, both as an individual and as a nation under the design on which we were founded. Just to remind folks, that was the situation when Bill Clinton took office. Two years in, the Republicans took over the congress, forcing Clinton to move to the "middle". Here’s to hoping they are as unsuccessful as the last two administrations. For the first two years of Obama the Dems had total control and did manage to make health care worse. But the world didn’t come to a end . And for the first two years of Trump the republicans had total control and managed to give us a small tax cut . We are judged by a separate standard from the one used to urge BLM or Antifa protesters!! Our actions don't support the agenda of the press/media or their darlings in the political arena. The media is in a total panic, having seen that the gloves coming off and the normally docile "Silent Majority" all of a sudden become active and vocal!!!! Economists have predicted a recession worse than 2008 and maybe heading into the great depression territory! Federal funding for cops will be effected Obamma Care will be upgraded pushing towards national HC, mandatory. Student loan debt? But they will push for free or greatly reduced tuition.
