Hillbilly Drifter Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 Winter here is the time when I do most of my reloading. Too cold and wet outside, range closes for 3 moths. I have one room in my house dedicated to reloading and gun maintenance. Bored this morning so took a few pics to share. Feel free to add pics of your loading areas if you like. I have a Dillon 550 but it is mothballed for now. I do everything on the RCBS shown. Stocking up on 45 colt, 44-40, 38-55, 45-70, 44mag, 308 win, 223 rem. Others as needed.
Tyrel Cody Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 That is way too organized. Merry Christmas!
High Spade Mikey Wilson Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 Looking good!! Merry Christmas!
Tex Jones, SASS 2263 Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 Nice set up. Reminds me of my old room. Now all I have is the garage. Too cold now.
Shooting Bull Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 It's not quite as clean anymore, but close
Smoky Pistols Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 Wow, wow, WOW! That is a truly nice set-up, HD! What's the manufacturer and make of that brass spinner? I'm looking to replace the round blue ball and bucket model I'm using.

The media separator is Dillon https://www.dillonprecision.com/cm-2000-case-media-separator_8_8_23662.html super easy to use
The Original Lumpy Gritz Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 I would recommend adding at least 1 or 2, 15lb ABC fire extinguishers. OLG
Imis Twohofon,SASS # 46646 Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 OK You are both a little too organized for my abilities. No not quite true, I just have a LOT more little stuff involved. I plan to add more shelf spaceand give my other hobby stuff a different space. Imis pix may follow
The Original Lumpy Gritz Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 Carpet in a reloading room is not a good idea. You want to be able to 'mop' the floor for spilled powder etc. OLG
Hillbilly Drifter Posted December 24, 2018 Author Posted December 24, 2018 it is what it is Lumpy. The room was there, I just put it to use.
KingSnake Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 I would have at least 3 times that much "stuff" in that that much area.
Hillbilly Drifter Posted December 24, 2018 Author Posted December 24, 2018 Im working on it KingSnake!
Matthew Duncan Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 I started with a repurposed countertop on a 2x4 frame. Add wall shelves, sink (wet tumbling), shelving unit and under counter storage for ammo boxes. I'm happy if I can see some countertop. Scrap piece of carpet to keep my feet warm.

You may well have a static issue. How will you clean up spilled powder and find dropped live primers from that carpet then? OLG
Assassin Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 My vacuum finds them. Concrete is way too cold and hard to stand on for hours. I also have a thick anti static rubber mat.
Hillbilly Drifter Posted December 24, 2018 Author Posted December 24, 2018 While I appreciate your concern OLG, trust me, I get by just fine.
The Original Lumpy Gritz Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 Hope your luck keeps going your way OLG
Tex Jones, SASS 2263 Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 Some interlocking rubber or foam floor tiles might make it easier to find or pick up stuff that may be dropped.
Trailrider #896 Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 A clean desk (or organized loading bench) is the sign of a sick mind! Merry Christmas, Everyone!

I don't know if the duds are the live ones that bounced on the concrete floor or not. My policy now is if a primer makes to the floor it gets scrapped.

Deadshot Dan Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 Heres some pics of the basement man cave where i spend alot of evenings in the winter. Even has the concrete floor for OLG, left that way on purpose.
Captain Clark Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 You doing fine Hillbilly Drifter, that's a nice setup!.... Merry Christmas
TN Mongo, SASS #61450 Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 Wow, there are some very nice set-ups shown above. Between my reloading stuff and my leather working stuff, my room is packed and not as neatly organized. One observation (not a criticism), the OP room showed brass tumbling stuff. I too tumbled in the house until a close fellow shooter, who also tumbled indoors, showed very high lead levels during a yearly physical. Both of us have moved our tumblers to the garage and I've invested in a wet tumbler.
Geronimo Jim SASS # 21775 Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 Hillbilly..................you are a sick man. Didn't think it was possible to have a reloading room that neat. Seriously ........I'm envious. Thanks for sharing.
Warden Callaway Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 I'm not showing my reloading area(s). It's more of an archeological expedition to get to stuff I need to load next. We have Dillon 450 and 550b set up on one 8' work bench. I have a couple of small C presses that I clamp down when and where needed. We have a MEC 600 10 and 12 gauge setting on a crafts table. Several sets of shelves filled with ammo and components.
Dutch Wheeler Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 I have three work benches in my workshop, one of which is pretty much dedicated to reloading.
Chickasaw Bill SASS #70001 Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 them be way too neat and tidy I gotta push stuff out of the way to get into shop , then dig to get to the presses shop heated in the summer and cooled in the winter , some how that seems backward ? Chickasaw
