Who works on your guns....

Since the site won't let guys advertise.....let's do it for them.

In the midwest:

Ohio-Lassiter-pistols, leverguns, 87's and just about everything

Michigan-Colt McCallister-97's, lever guns, etc.

S. Indiana-Manatee-Lever guns, sights, etc.

NE Indiana-Montana Longhair-does about everything

At one time or another I've had all these pards work on, or set up a gun for me and all with good results. By the way these are all top notch shooters as well.

KK

I had Widder do my Marlins with the angle feed and he has turned the process over to Slick McClade who I understand is doing a great job making Widdermatics down in Louisiana.

Let's add to this list to help those who are in need of some gun work.

Over the years have had several.

Griner Gunworks of Bloomfield , NM

Bob James from down Phoenix , AZ way

Sheriff Bill Murphy(alias) from Phoenix area

Cowboys and Indians shop in CA

Longhunter in Amarillo , TX

Ol' Number 4 in Oregon for shotguns (BSS)

Cinch from Myton , Utah for 97s

I also have a Smith & Wesson Model 19 that has an excellent action that I have no idea who did the work. I traded for the little shooter from a pard in Virginia ; he told me the smith's name but I have forgotten.

Glad we have all these talented folks to lean on , if I had to do my own I would probably shoot them factory stock. What a HORRIBLE thought.

Most happy with tuned shooters , Rex :D

Johnny Meadows for SKBs

Jim Bowie and/or TL for '73s

I currently shoot 73s but, I still have my original 66 from Long Hunter that's incredibly smooth. When I scrape together enough pennies for another pair of SASS Vaqueros I'll get them from Long Hunter too.

Cody Conagher

Coyote Cap

Alan Harton

Longhunter

Nate Kiowa Jones

And special mention for our wire "experts" who are too numerous to mention, but a few stand out. (I'm sure more will come to mind later, but I have to get back to work!) These gentlemen share an abundance of clear, reliable information in layman's terms for newbies and old timers as well. I never miss one of their posts.

Shotguns - TL / Recoil pads - Delta Glen

Pistols - Longhunter / Roughneck Rod changed out the hammers and some other work.

Rifle - Berreta 73 - Roughneck Rod

Rod is now my gunsmith of choice, both local and very good.

Cody for a rifle

In NC, 3 Cut is hard to beat for slicking up a Ruger at a reasonable price and he does top notch work on Stoegers and Baikals as well.

For leather, Murphy's Custom Gunleather in the midwest is as good as it gets. Holsters fit guns like a glove and will last at least a lifetime...

I know there are a lot of good gunsmiths.....I listed the ones that did work for me....I'm glad others are getting their recognition. Duece, Ketchum, Doc Noper and others do great work, but I haven't gotten around to them yet....lol....in time....so many gunsmiths, so little time.

I think I'll start one on gunleather.

Spur is retired, but he did a couple of Norico '97s and a couple of 73s for me. Told me how to do my Marlins! He also did a .45CS Marlin short stroke, very sweet.

Cap did my 87 and fixed a broken Stoger, both overnight at a match.

Manatee did some great work on my first 73 while at a match, St. Jude's, then donated all his gun work that weekend to the charity!

Super happy with all the work done. All these guys act like it's a lifetime warranty.

I've done half a dozen Stevens, several Marlins, a bunch of '58 Remies, and all my Rugers, but I ain't no gunsmith, and I can prove it!

Tweakin' and fixin' are two different animals.
