DeaconKC
Okay, how many of us regularly carry a classy gun. Not the most practical, but the one you just enjoy carrying because of it's style or beauty. Let's see some pics. Here's my favorite carry gun, a S&W 25 in .45ACP with a bobbed 3" barrel:

Pat Riot, SASS #13748
@DeaconKC That’s a beauty! My normal carry gun is not as classy. This one isn’t classy but I like it. I am still trying to find the right holster for it. I have been thinking about getting a new set of grip panels for the S&W 442 above. The rubber grips grab clothing when I wear an OWB holster. I was thinking this set with a BK Adapter

Norinco 1911 A1 are pretty desireable iirc. The few folks I know with them, say they’ll never sell them. My old 29-3. I don’t care for adjustable sights on my carry guns. So, it wears a Cyl&Slide fixed rear. Edited March 11 by WOLFY 3

Texas Joker
So in one thread there is a pretty heated exchange over whether or not a credit card company might can figure out what you own based on spending profiles. And over here we're showing off our bbq guns that we own and carry but no one is worried they are going to track catalogue and retain this info.... 3
WOLFY
oh, these are bbq guns? my 29 is my winter carry. here’s my “sunday bbq” gun. It still has the Hillary Hole (for now). Edited March 11 by WOLFY

I got Bigmouth used in '94, so Norinco has/had (I don't know if they still do), made them for a long time. Before they started making their own frames, builders like Wilson and others used Norinco as their base platform. Edited March 11 by Sgt. C.J. So Texas is correct, if one wants to maintain a low profile. Here in the State of Despair, i.e. NYS, every handgun by serial number must be registered with the local County Sheriff, certified correct to the NY State Police every three years, and listed on your pistol permit. It is hard to maintain a low profiloe under such legal scrutiny. And, of course, criminal gun owners don't obey these laws anyway... WOLFY
I got out of Calif for pretty similar reasons to Shepherd’s (CA & NY gun laws are lame) when it gets warmer here, i carry either my Colt subcompacts or their cousin a Sig P238. Rye Miles #13621
I wouldn’t carry too classy of a piece since God forbid you have to use it, you may not get it back real soon and it may come back in not the best condition! this is what I carry, cost me $300

And that, dear friends, is the only facet worth discussing when it come to carry guns. Classy? So what. When it comes from your holster are you bragging to friends or in the gravest extreme? If friends, do they care about “classy” or do they care enough about you to want you safe at the end of an unpleasant engagement? I have the privilege of owning some beautiful classy guns. They are reserved for the range, the hunting field, or a sporting clays course. I’ll trade some targets or points to show off “classy”. I ain’t trading my life.
Rip Snorter
Heaven forbid any of us have to use a carry gun, if the gun cost thousands it would likely be a small fraction of the legal costs. I will carry a good gun that I shoot well and have confidence in. Potentially a live or die situation, certainly life changing.

ShadowCatcher
Mostly this one - the 1911 - it is the one I trust the most after some 45+ years of carrying. My Beretta 92x compact is earning my trust pretty quickly these days as well . . . .

You throw everything away but the frame and slide you want cheap. I had 2 slides to cut for adj sights, one was as soft as any gun parts I ever cut, the other so hard I almost couldn't cut it. Poor quality control on the heat treat.

Forty Rod SASS 3935
My winter and all season car gun is an RIA 1911 .45. Milder weather sees a Colt Detective Special .38 Special. Summer and concealed carry gun is a Colt Government Model .380. All three are essentially stock with minor things to make them feel better, like grips, and to make them a bit more useable to me, such as outlined sights. All are also tuned for reliability. FWIW the only mods were to polish the ramps / sears and install finger groove grip panels otherwise they were factory. When you take care of them they last a long time & they stay looking good.
