Good question. After all, you don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.

Utah Bob #35998 15,861
I’m a bit of a weather junkie. Since the old station crapped out, I’ve missed checking the wind speed, humidity, temp variations and so on. I belong to COCORAHS. Station CO-DR-14. Just another weird hobby I have. Marshal Mo Hare, SASS #45984 7,061
You need a weather rock. If the rock is wet, it's raining. If the rock is swinging, the wind is blowing. If the rock casts a shadow, the sun is shining. If the rock does not cast a shadow and is not wet, the sky is cloudy. If the rock is difficult to see, it is foggy. If the rock is white, it is snowing. If the rock is coated with ice, there is a frost. If the ice is thick, it's a heavy frost. If the rock is bouncing, there is an earthquake. If the rock is under water, there is a flood. If the rock is warm, it is sunny. If the rock is missing, there was a tornado. If the rock is wet and swinging violently, there is a hurricane. If the rock can be felt but not seen, it is night time. If the rock has white splats on it, watch out for birds. If there are two rocks, stop drinking, you are drunk. 3

Otherwise how could it swing to tell you that the wind is blowing or that there is a hurricane?

I have a pair with 2200 g of thinsulate, snow gaiters, and toe warmers for really cold days. I got frostbite in Germany as a young fella so my dogs don’t do well in real frigidness. Four-Eyed Buck,SASS #14795 883
I had to shovel this morning, and salt. Had to be careful as the tire tracks were slippery. Had a cat trash mess to clean up as well. Tore up my trash bag I have on a rolling stand. Also filled the bird feeders, the little piggies have just about emptied them already!
