Rye Miles #13621 Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 The ruling will come down Friday on A-Rod. Will he be banned for life? Personally I hope so that lying, stinkin' cheater! Rye
Sgt. C.J. Sabre, SASS #46770 Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Who's A-Rod? Banned from what? The Wire? I don't even remember seeing any posts from him.
Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172 Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 He ain't popular in Seattle
Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172 Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Just hope he doesn't fall off his wallet.
Utah Bob #35998 Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Maybe if a few more of these guys get hammered some young players will see the light. But the cynical side of me says probably not.
Cypress Sun Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Just remember, MLB dishes out their punishment based on stature and monetary importance. A Rod won't get what he deserves if the "rumors" are true. Too much money from the Steinbrenners. Player of lesser stature will be dealt with more harshly. Any player, no matter what sport, that is a cheater should be banned for life. I detest cheaters in any form. CS
Frontier Lone Rider Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 A contract for $275,000,000.00 and he still wanted more!!!
Charlie Harley, #14153 Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 He represents all that is wrong in baseball. It will be interesting to see what happens.
Yul Lose Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 I'm bettin on the lifetime ban. The Yankees don't want him and with him getting banned they don't have to pay him upwards of 75 million over the next three years. I've heard that he'll challenge any ban and is willing to spend 20 million to do so. We shall see.

A Rod won't get what he deserves if the "rumors" are true. Too much money from the Steinbrenners. Player of lesser stature will be dealt with more harshly. Quite the opposite. It's the soon-to-be former stars that organizations go after. When the athletes are in their prime, there's too much money to be made before going after them. It's after they've peaked physically and financially that they truly become targets, so the organizations can appear to be tough on drugs in sports. Barry Bonds, A-Rod, Mark McGuire, Roger Clemens et al are just a few recent examples.
DocWard Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 As far as I'm concerned, if Armstrong got the hammer, so should he.
Calamity Kris Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 He ain't popular in Seattle Ain't too popular here either. I'm really interested in the outcome of this. All those 'roid boys deserve to get slammed.

Cat Brules Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 I read something that said the commish was trying to get him to agree to admit malfeasance, then he would get a lifetime ban but would still be able to collect about $100 million on his contract over the next few years. These guys simply leave me cold as far as generating any enthusiasm for a particular team or game. I just don't care about them. I have just as much fun watching the games without these hotshots as I do with them. A company I used to work at had a field supervisor or some such who lifted weights and he would periodically go on one of these steriod binges or cycles. It came to my notice when it was pointed out that his area of responsibility had productivity ups and downs. Investigation turned up info from some of his employees that the guy was on steroids and that during these cycles he would become violent and abusive to those who worked for him. Drug testing revealed he was on these drugs and he was gone when the results came in.
Marshal Mo Hare, SASS #45984 Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Remember when the MLB drug of choice was a six pack?
Sgt. C.J. Sabre, SASS #46770 Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Who cares? My point exactly.
Chantry Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Let's hope so, in addition to the PED's, attempts at a cover up and recruiting other players for PED's, A-Roid shows a complete lack of class. This is a man who regularly cheated on his wife, refuses to ackowledges his mistakes unless forced and despite playing so bad during the playoffs last year that he was benched, still found time to throw baseballs with his phone number on them to women during the game, all while making more money in a year then most of us will see in our lifetimes.
Krazy Kajun Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 WIth all the money he has made he shouldn't need to work another day in his life. All I am looking for is justice to be served...nothing more and nothing less.
Gunner Gatlin, SASS 10274L Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Us baseball fans do! Yup...as a Little Leaguer I have always enjoyed the game - too bad the BIG money lure has pushed people to put crap in their bodies for that extra edge... As far a A-Rod - seems he's failed the integrity of the game and I don't give a rat's behind for those that do such things... GG ~
Forty Rod SASS 3935 Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Us baseball fans do! Why? Does baseball need A Rod to survive? If so, then the sport is in pretty sad shape.
Gunner Gatlin, SASS 10274L Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Why? Does baseball need A Rod to survive? If so, then the sport is in pretty sad shape. Nope GG ~
Utah Bob #35998 Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Latest word is that a deal is in the works banning him for 2 years with no pat. He couldthen return and collect his contract money. MLB wants this because there will e no appeal process and he'll be washed up,n theiropinion, when he returns. I'd like to see this pig out permanently. He should never set foot on a diamond again.
Rye Miles #13621 Posted August 1, 2013 Author Posted August 1, 2013 Why? Does baseball need A Rod to survive? If so, then the sport is in pretty sad shape. Heck no, but it's interesting......to me anyways. Rye
Anvil Al #59168 Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 he is not like much in Texas either. But if the do a lifetime ban without letting him file a appeal. The player union is going to have a cow. Let him have an appeal. And it holds up with a lifetime ban. Player union will be OK with that. As I think they are tied of his BS also.
Forty Rod SASS 3935 Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Heck no, but it's interesting......to me anyways. Rye To me Jell-O is interesting. So are Slinkys and those birds that keep drinking water out of a glass until their beak won't go low enough to touch the water. Also high on my list of interesting things are gyroscopes, the things in a glass bulb that spin when the sun hits them, preying mantises, kaleidoscopes, lizards and snakes, girls at the mall, and 1950s-1960s era Gran Prix cars, but bums like this guy don't. Then again, I haven't seen a baseball game since Vida Blue refused to show up for Spring training because they wouldn't pay him enough. That was about 1969 and I remember it because it's the same time cyclamates were outlawed.
Judge Lewis Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Full employment for lawyers. Some lawyer out there will make a mint defending him....

I've been a baseball fan since 1956, I love the game and guys like ARod ruin the sport. I so want to see him banned for GOOD! GO TRIBE!!!!! 8 IN A ROW!!!! Rye

Utah Bob #35998 Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Baseball makes me happy. The players, not so much.
Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172 Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Somebody jack up the Cardinals.
