Blackwater 53393 Posted July 1, 2023 Posted July 1, 2023 It was around ninety this morning. A few minutes ago it was sixty-five! One hell of a thunderstorm went through right after lunch and now the sun is out again!! Probably half an inch or so of rain in less than half an hour!!

Cold Lake Kid, SASS # 51474 Posted July 2, 2023 Posted July 2, 2023 70 here, on Canada Day. Smokey, some heavy rain with thunder and some wind. I can taste the smoke in my mouth and it's affecting my breathing a little. I'm running the furnace A/C and circulation fan which has filters. I also have Air Purifiers in the house, one downstairs, one in the upstairs hallway, one in my bedroom and one in Big Red's I think I'll buy another larger one for the first floor to help the family room/kitchen. Staying inside mostly because I start to cough outside.
Rye Miles #13621 Posted July 2, 2023 Posted July 2, 2023 85 yesterday and in the 80’s all week! Humidity is a bit high around 60% not awful.
Phantom Falcon, SASS # 46139 Posted July 2, 2023 Posted July 2, 2023 It's cooler in Yuma than in Phoenix: only 111. PF
Buckshot Bear Posted July 2, 2023 Posted July 2, 2023 35.6° this morning and with a top of around 57 or so it will be a wonderful day.....love Winter!
watab kid Posted July 2, 2023 Posted July 2, 2023 hot here too , and dry - we need rain , looking like a storm is developing but so far disappointed every time this happens , predicted cooler later this week and maybe some rain - we shall see
Subdeacon Joe Posted July 2, 2023 Author Posted July 2, 2023 Yesterday topped at about 102F here - forecast was for ~92F. Today we hit about 96F. Supposed to cool down the rest of the week: Very pleasant, even when you add in the 3 to 5 degree F that the forecasts are usually off by.
Larsen E. Pettifogger, SASS #32933 Posted July 3, 2023 Posted July 3, 2023 I went out to our monthly match at Cowtown this morning. Only had one big posse (27). I decided to call it quits after four stages. Bumped 114 today and supposed to be 115+ tomorrow. I use to shoot no matter the temp. Now as the temps start rising I start pouring sweat like one of those old comedies and figure it is time to head for the barn, take a shower, and lay on the couch for a while.

Need to convert those temps into something us Americans can understand: 35.6C = 96.08F 57C = 134F (and yes, I know the temps you posted were F)
Tex Jones, SASS 2263 Posted July 6, 2023 Posted July 6, 2023 Average temps here in MN this time of the year are usually in the mid 80s. Low to mid 70's right now. No one is complaining.
Subdeacon Joe Posted July 6, 2023 Author Posted July 6, 2023 The last few days have been rather pleasant, highs in the low 70s, overnight in the upper 40s and low 50s. Supposed to start warming up again next Tuesday to be in the upper 80s and low 90s. About right for this time of year.

Calamity Kris Posted July 7, 2023 Posted July 7, 2023 When I left for wo#k this morning, it was 85degrees with 70% humidity............. at 4:30AM. Now we have a rocking thunderstorm overhead.
Subdeacon Joe Posted July 7, 2023 Author Posted July 7, 2023 29 minutes ago, Pat Riot said: Looks normal to me. Do you feel like you have a fever? Nope. It was just the sudden jump, one day barely making 70 then jumping to ~100. And that, for the first day of July is a bit unusual for Sonoma County. We get lots of that natural air conditioning off of the Pacific.

Larsen E. Pettifogger, SASS #32933 Posted July 12, 2023 Posted July 12, 2023 Yep we are getting old. Club shoot for this Saturday (supposed to be 117+) has been cancelled. Five years ago it did not matter how hot it was we shot. Now between Cowtown and ACSA both cancelling shoots I guess I will have to go to the Western Regional. Only high 60's or low 70's at Moro Bay.

bgavin Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 SDJ: no worries... Sacramento is stepping up to suck the heat out of the Bay Area once again. Sunday will be 110 and the Hinges of Hell™ will arrive here once again. Those wonderful Delta breezes come about when Sacramento sucks.
