So some very good friends just came back from shot show with an interesting offer. They get to choose a special run of rugers but they have to garentee a certian number sold. Conditions were it had to be chambered in a currently loaded ammo and be based off of current platforms.

So if you had this offer what would you choose?

Ruger 1911 in 10 MM. Stainless, Adjustable sight version.

Or the Ruger Precision Rifle, .338 Lapua.

As to "guarantee a minimum sales number" - hard to do. Even big distributors are hard pressed to judge trends in the future.

Good luck, GJ

The number guaranteed is smaller than you might think. It's what they called a pilot run to see if there is any interest. The shop has had a long friendship with ruger.

This isn't the first special run that came from the shop.

Duece ill call tomorrow to see if the old model frame is an option.

So far the ideas that came from the staff are,

44 special montado

41 bisley hunter

Scout rifle in 6.5 creed or .338

I have too many thoughts to narrow it down to one

If they made any amount of 32's....they would sell out immediately........and in stainless.

How about something easy, that would definitely sell? Do a run of SR1911's, with traditional style sights, non-beavertail grip safety, solid trigger... in other words, a Ruger SR1911 that could be used in WBAS Traditional Category.

I wonder if cylinder would be big enough for six chambers?

There are already guys that do the conversion. Very lightweight "whippy" guns. But like you mentioned you have to be mindful of cartridge OAL.

Davidson's did that a few years back. 1000 Ruger Super Black Hawk Hunters in 41 mag. I have one.

I'd take a pair of Ruger Old Army 5.5s but I'd like mine in 36 caliber.
