I never get in a Funk. They don't get near the mileage they claim, are slow and unresponsive, are very cramped and uncomfortable, are noisy as all get out, and are dangerous in traffic.

unlike Forty I drove a Funk one time highly modified 0 to 60 in 10.5 hours down hill and after removing the top and side real comfy, roomy too. Forty they are not dangerous in traffic everybody gets out of the way as they go around you :D:lol:

I believe the term is very confusing to many of us due to the dichotomy between Funk, being generally looked at as a very low emotional state, and Funky, an extreme state of coolness, almost to the point of being manic.

Therefore there is a vast difference between being in a funk and being in a funky state, the former being a negative and the latter a positive (except for stick-in-the-mud party pooper types who are incapable of being even a little funky

So then we can say that being in a funk would not make one funky. Rather we could say you were "funked". Usually, because of the danger of misunderstanding due to poor hearing, regional accents, or impaired hearing, one does not use the term "funked" in polite conversation.

Clinically however, I believe it would be safe to say that you are funked up while in a state of funk and would not be considered cool, hip, or happening..

This is quite different than being in a funky state.

Like Oregon.

I hope this clears things up.

Now get down. Get down tonight.

Far too much time on your hands!

And don't forget "funk" can mean odorous, as in Vincent Price talking about "the funk of forty thousand years" in "Thriller."

When I was a teenager learning to play the guitar, Joe Walsh was "the man".....well, one of many.... :) . I still think his funky guitar in Funk #49 is one of the best guitar riffs ever conjured, and I think his slide guitar lead in "Victim of Love" (Eagles) is the best and most tasteful slide guitar I've ever heard.

I once saw him live in a small venue in college. He is as goofy-funny in person as he shows in his music.
