That was 2 guns ago & just now I have shouted myself a belated Xmas present...bought a new Bond  Derringer in .357..I mean I can't be borrowing one all the time for side matches' I said....I mean ya' gotta' have your own ..right ?

Now I'm wondering about a lever action shotgun..best leave that for a while till' I have a good reason... !!!

You have to remember, NEED is irrelevant where obtaining guns is concerned!!

I constantly explain that after a certain relatively low number, it becomes less about need, and more about want.

My wife laughs every time I tell her I  am going to sell most of mine except for the ones I truly need and list them.  All except the guns I carried as a cop and a hunting rifle and the guns I used to compete with and.....

Yep Mike..I kinda' think I can relate to that, but in all honesty my beautiful wife shoots Cowboy with me so I think she really understands the passion I have for guns.  !!

Guns are tools!

Different guns for different jobs.

I got this point across to my wife one day when she said she needed some specific muffin pans. We had just had a discussion a couple of days prior when I said I wanted to build a specific AR-15. She said “You have enough guns.” I explained that they are like tools.

I told her she had enough pans. She got frustrated and told me she needed the new pans to make smaller muffins for a new recipe.

I told that perhaps now she could understand why different guns have different uses, much her pans.

She did remind me that her pans cost a hell of a lot less than my guns.

Don't forget the 60 day rule.  When you buy a new gun, you keep it from your wife for at least 60 days.  Then you can bring it out and when she says, "When did you buy that?"  "This gun? I have had this for a long time."  And you are not fibbing.

Its a wonder she didn't need a few more new pans after that discussion. :P

It’s obvious to me I need to proof read more... Or has Auto Correct introduced a word removing feature that comes in to play when you hit “submit”? :D

Well, you seem friendly, and you can't lend a Bond  Derringer in .357 to a friend, if you don't have one!   So , you're just thinking of others really!  Great guy! your wife should be proud!

Last week my wife told me she was worried about my ammo situation.  She said she surveyed the ammo shelves before Christmas, and it looked like I only had ammo for firearms that I owned and she thought we oughta keep some for other calibers too.  Just in case.  I said, "You realize if I buy strange ammo I'll have to buy a gun for it eventually, right?"  She said "Why, whatever do you mean?"

I married a good one.  My only problem is that I'm at a loss for what calibers to add next.  44-40 seems to be an obvious choice, but what else?

Howdy,,

At one time I sat at a pards kitchen table discussing how WE (the SASS community)

just needed one more gun.

And there it is.

The new lever action shotgun.

At one time I was on the list of pards to get one of the first batch.

They came along much later than planned so I gave up my spot(s) in the line.

The lever action shotgun is just a bit more of a handful than I thought it would be.

If you try one and really like it, be sure you get a GOOD one.

There are cheap knock off copies. Avoid them.

Get the Coyote Cap type or just avoid them.

Best
