Some sort of genetic condition that if they got a white cat with blue eyes they also have the genes for deafness. So just because the cat was white didn't mean it would be deaf. And just because it had blue eyes didn't mean it would be deaf. Had to be both. But his eyes are only half blue. Hmmm

But I see that the blue is on the outside of both eyes. I guess that would mean that he only has 50% hearing. Could probably get by with a cheap hearing aid.
