Ok I am interested in getting into this and am really interested in the frontier cartridge category....that being said I see costuming guidelines for classic cowboy and b western but none for frontier cartridge. Could someone help clear this up for me?

There are no specific costume requirements for FC.  However, I recommend dark colored shirts as BP smoke can soil your sleeves.  See page 2 of the Shooters Handbook for general costuming requirements.

Sure.

Because the ONLY catagories that REQUIRE certain dress code are Classic Cowboy and B Western.

With that, in all other catagories, dress your desire as long as you do not wear any if the outlawed items in the handbook.

Need to meet a 'smoke factor' (in otherwords, we gotta see smoke)

And must use fixed sights.

This is pretty normal for Shanley and I for FC.

Think of what your alias represents...

Dude, cowboy, gambler, townie, rancher?

Dress from there, and have fun.

Frontier Cartridge is a shooting, but not a costuming category.   Pick a costume that suits you.
Frontier Cartridge Category/Categories
Frontier Cartridge can be subdivided to specific style (e.g.., Frontier Cartridge Duelist, Frontier Cartridge Gunfighter), by gender (e.g., Lady Frontier Cartridge Duelist, etc.) and further by Age (e.g., Senior Lady Frontier Cartridge Duelist, etc.) depending upon demand and sanctioning category mandates.
Categories include:
 - Frontier Cartridge.
- Frontier Cartridge Duelist.
- Frontier Cartridge Gunfighter.
Frontier Cartridge Rules:
  - Any main match fixed sight model revolver
- Revolvers may be shot two handed or one handed (Duelist style) in Frontier
Cartridge category but only one handed in Frontier Cartridge Duelist category.
(See Duelist style description for parameters.)
- If shooting Frontier Cartridge Gunfighter, only Gunfighter-style or Double
Duelist style may be used. (See Gunfighter style description for parameters.)
- Must use blackpowder in all loads (rifle, revolver, and shotgun)
- Must use a side-by-side, single shot, or lever action shotgun in the main match
stages.
- Any SASS legal pistol caliber rifle is acceptable.

"Need to meet a 'smoke factor' (in other words, we gotta see smoke)"

what Singing Sue said.

In short, if the spotters aren't coughing, choking, sneezing, or just plain complaining when your done shooting, then you need more smoke!!

Comfortable jeans.

Comfortable boots.

Comfortable long sleeved shirt.

Comfortable western hat (not required but good protection against hot brass.)

Go have fun.

Regardless of category...

It is more important to look good than shoot good.

My wife cringes when she makes me a new light color shirt know its going to have all sorts of dark stains after the day is out.

I use Queen size sheets from the thrift store!!! That way, if they ruin, they only cost $.50 and a little time.

My Leather Roping cuffs keep most of the black of the sleeves and my hat keeps the hot brass out of my shirt ...

As for Smoke, full case loads of Goex 3f in .44 spl. , .38 Wcf. or .45 Colt  causes folks to run for cover or the next bay ...

As  you have heard Frontier cartridge doesnt have any Costume rules.

The clothing changed a lot over that time period.

Pick a time. For instance after the Civil War. You mite wear part civilian clothing mixed with Military .
