Another great one bites the dust

Another historic business that has been in New York for nearly two centuries has finally arrived at the conclusion that they are no longer welcome there and is moving to a place where they are welcome and wanted!

I really feel sorry for their employees and their families. I also hope that those people and those in other businesses in that community that have been negatively affected by this sad situation will remember who it was that caused the move when election time rolls around again!!

I guess some officials still haven't learned about the consequences of ones actions.

Or maybe this is exactly what they wanted.

always sad when old gun works go away , but such has been the way for ever , the sader thing is when these legendary american gun producers are bought up by foreign makers to me ,

It's news reporting....there is no longer a need to be accurate, just fast.

Now what was it that Wyatt Earp said about that.............?

Just remember that any and all States are just ONE election cycle from becoming a New York, California, New Jersey and multiple other States. Vote accordingly and encourage others to vote accordingly.

I don't see why any firearm companies still manufacture in the Northeast.

Believe it or not, those states are filled with red blooded, God fearing, constitution loving Americans that would love nothing more than to preserve their industry, history and heritage. I’m heading to one soon for late muzzleloading season in Gods country- the Adirondacks.

It was Republicans and conservatives that once controlled these areas, and it is they which lost them, and it is they which reinforced and expanded the funding to public  education which has resulted in the indoctrination of tens of millions of kids for the cultural and ideological shift we witnessed. All the while, they focused on guns (military expansion) and money.

Instead, they spent post WWII building capital ,not community; not reinforcing values, but instead abdicating duty and responsibility, instead going about trumpeting contrived scares, building the military-industrial complex Ike warned us about; and in engaging in and creating the never ending foreign entanglements Jefferson cautioned us of.

All the while, they actively collaborated with the Democrats in fleecing the middle class of jobs and prosperity in the name of insuring personal and political gain for all of bureaucracy, while propping up despotic governments abroad that served to enhance the power and influence of global puppeteers.

No gentlemen, this plant closure is just another patch in the asphalt paving the road for this country to reach the socialist hell world leaders have been drooling for us to become. We’ll more and more resemble Canada and Australia in future decades as “leadership” continues to sell us out.

The day men in politics  point out, apologize for, disavow, and commit to reversing these affronts to our nation, our heritage, and our freedom, I’ll have a better feeling about who I vote for.

We're not exactly Northeast here in Ohio, we're considered Midwest but we do have a firearm company right here in Mansfield Ohio. Lots of people love these affordable guns. Actually the High Point carbine is pretty nice and reliable as well.

SASS thinks you are the Northeast:lol:. Or the Northeast Regional would actually be in the real Northeast as it was for years. Maybe we can have the Midwest regional here.:P

I had a 9mm one. Shot it once. Everything fed just fine, no ejection problems, no nothin'. Then I read the instructions for cleaning disassembly...ran a bore snake down the barrel and sold it.

Was it a handgun or a carbine ? I know that’s a problem with the handguns for sure!

Carbine w/4 factory mags. Got it cheap. No way that I was going use that much effort to take it apart just for a clean and lube. Gotta say though...it worked as advertised!

You don't take a high point down for cleaning. Bore snake and sprays then wipe it off.

If it won't work send it back. They hit the factory restore button and return it to you.

High points are more robust and reliable than an ak. But the ak has better ergonomics and visual appeal.

I am glad Rem Arms is moving. Screw New York politics.

Before Remington went bankrupt I purchased an R51 9mm and an RM380. The RM380 was fantastic. It fired everything I tried and very reliably. The R51 was a POS.

Remington’s quality control was crap. Totally mismanaged.

Since they have re-formed I have seen a few of their rifles and shotguns. They appear to be very well made. I hope they do well in Georgia.

Have you ever tried to disassemble & reassemble Ruger Mark I, II or III?  The process is a PITA!!.  I've owned one for over 20 years and have taken it down once to thoroughly clean.  If it weren't for a 3rd party recently offering a modification that prevents the hammer strut from going behind the pin in the grip frame I would never do more than clean the bore & breech face.  It was well worth the $30 bucks I paid.

I love my MK III Hunter.  It teaches patience.  See there are some prerequisites before you have kids.  Get married, get a dog, then a Ruger MKIII.  Then you are ready for kids.  I have the Youtube video on reassembly saved.

Those never bothered me except for the possibility of missing with the rubber mallet and hitting the sights.

Where did you purchase the 3rd party part, if you don't mind me asking?
