For the last fifty or so years we have worked tirelessly to make the world idiot proof!!

The ONLY thing that we have accomplished is to create bigger and more perfect idiots!!

Essentially conceding the night to the criminals, and asking their indulgence in limiting violence during the day.

Surprised the good citizens didn't suggest to the criminals that they instead participate in less-violent crime. 'Hey, instead of shooting at each other, why not just put together a nice, peaceful 'flash-rob'? Wouldn't a car-jacking be nice, too?'

Hey Chicago -- how's that whole, 'defund' thing working out for ya?

Chicagoans had a chance to vote in a mayor that wanted to get tough on crime but instead chose someone who by all accounts is even further left of the previous.

No pity.

Can't say I'm going to feel sorry for 'em any.  I quit trying to educate and fix stoopid folks like that long ago.

I now rely on Darwin to cull out the herd.

Neville Chamberlain taught us the lesson of failed appeasement.

Appeasement is feeding the monster, in hopes that he will eat you last.

When I see idiocy like this, I wonder what these fools do in real life!

Their naivete is breathtaking!

I hope their jobs are nothing critical or important, like a Doctor or Lawyer water treatment operator, street sweeper, bus driver etc.

I certainly question the wisdom of letting them out without an attendant.

Actually, a long time ago, I patrolled a Black neighborhood often enough on rotating shifts that I got to know some people.  Like anywhere else there were more good ones than bad ones by far.  Among the good ones were some very serious people.  When those folks got annoyed, they could and did influence the behavior of the bad ones.  The difference, I suppose,  with whatever flaws it had, that neighborhood was still a genuine community.

And once again, these people just keep voting the same people into office because they have a (d) beside their name on the ballot.

Frankly, under current conditions, I don't believe the votes of living humans on either side of the ideological divide matter anymore.

Oh I agree. The other side cheated, but they didn't have to in some places. Here in Tucson, the ratio is about 3 to 1 Dem vs. Rep. They don't need to cheat here.

I expect we continue to ruin these 'communities' with current policies.

What baffles me is that the black community seems to have bought this defund police scam based on the racist policing theory.  Who does defunding police hurt the most?  Hmmmm?

Then I will ask the question, In almost all cities, who is responsible for the police?  Would it be the major?  If there is bad policing, not saying there is, why are mayors never responsible?  What a dumpster fire and these fools add more flammables.

There are places in Birmingham where the police will not respond until they have 3 or more cars.  I bet other cities are similar.  So effectively you are on your own and the same people that put you on your own don't recognize your right to protect yourself?

I assure you the people you elect 'feel your pain' but they don't live with you!

I think the dirtbaggers should rebel and shoot at each other twice as much just to show them whose boss…no, what am I saying? Not two times ten times!

I'll bet you will find that only criminals are in favor of de-funding the police. The rest are strongly opposed to de-funding the police. However, putting them in front of the news camera doesn't fit the narative.

The simple fix is giving a swift and public execution to every thug convicted beyond ALL doubt of an intentional gun crime. No lawyer tricks, no delays, no excuses about being raped by his priest, gender dysphoria, being systematically oppressed, racially profiled or having 12 personalities.

When every thug is 100 percent certain he will be executed after pulling the trigger, this might deter some of them. The stupid ones and mental cases will only do it once.

A guy is caught on camera going into a 7/11, sticking a pistol in the clerk's ear, and splattering his brains all over the back wall.
Beyond all doubt.

No, that would help, but the real answer is here.

“If violent crime is to be curbed, it is only the intended victim who can do it. The felon does not fear the police, and he fears neither judge nor jury. Therefore what he must be taught to fear is his victim.”

My Liberal Psychology Professor might agree.  He said something like 'the death penalty doesn't work because the criminal isn't worried about the punishment.  He doesn't think he will get caught.'  To some degree he is right but long term it prevents crime :-)

Mr Cooper is right.  You need to keep the risk/reward in balance.

If you aren't familiar with Colonel Cooper, you might enjoy any of his books.
