Chief Rick
Louis L'Amour, Zane Gray, Elmore Leonard, etc... What novel that hasn't already been made into a movie would you like to see made today? While technically pre-western, I'd like to see Jubal Sackett made into a movie. That's my all-time favorite Louis L'Amour novel.

My all time favorite of L'Amour's is a non-Western, 'Last of the Breed', which would make a great movie.

Tyrel Cody
Tucker, any and all of the Sackett Books, , heck pretty much any book by L'Amour. Though not a western, The Walking Drum would make a great mini-series.

Loved the Kilkenny books. Would also love some decent ones of Utah Blaine and Will Reilly. I think there was an old movie of Utah, but it was.........not good. Nolan and Logan Sackett would be good too. JHC

Red Gauntlet , SASS 60619
My personal opinion has long been that the top Western author out there was Elmore Leonard. Hollywood must have concurred, because they made a lot of his Westerns into movies. The ones that come to mind right now are Hombre, Valdez is Coming, Joe Kidd, 3:10 to Yuma (twice), Last Stand at Saber River, and The Tall T . Not to mention the slew of his non-Westerns that were made into flics.

His knowledge of Middieval history was something else! I'd also like to see "Flint" and "Sitka" made into movies, provided Hollyweird didn't mess with the plots, characters, and firearms the way they usually do!
