Another classic. Technically still cowboy.

Can't say I really liked this one but it was the only one so far that didn't make me wanna go take a nap. As soon as I can find a recording of Rolan Kraps singing "On The Cover of The Chronicle" I may have a new favorite

anyhow; I like this one by Molly Hatchet

Garth Brooks does one called "The Cowboy Song". It's not on YouTube, but there are a lot of folks covering it. Great song, but I've never listened to any of the covers.

BTW, I'm not a Garth fan, but I do like that song.

I have a ton of them.

Here's one that's a little more modern, but classic in style

Then one of my favorite Gene Autry songs that doesn't get a lot of publicity.

I'll give it a break but post more later.

I'm really happy to see those Marty Robbins tunes up there, especially Mr. Shorty, and also Robert Earl's Sonora's Death Row.

All great stuff.

Thanks for the embedding help!

You don't want to hear ME sing it, Cody. I can't carry a tune in a bucket!

Well, I tried. I copied the 'Share' link from YouTube, then pasted into this page. I then attempted to change the type on these pages to black, didn't work. Please don't be mad at me, I don't know what I would do if I thought you were angry with me.

Goody..... You were always the slow one in the class.

Just ignore all the link shortcuts

go to youtube, select the video you want to share and click on it

then copy the address bar at the top of the page of that video

then come back to the Wire open a reply box here and simply paste the copied address directly into your post

Click the "add reply" button and Your Done!

"Big Ball's In Cowtown" by Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys. George Straight with Asleep At The Wheel also did a great rendition of it.

Have to agree with Johnny Harlan, Me and My Uncle done by the Dead.

Was written by John Phillips of the Momas and Popas for Judy Collins.
