She found out on Jan 29th that work would not hold her up. I Emailed Sunshine Kay that night and within the hour was told that there had been one more cancellation and iffin I got my registration to her real quick like, I had a slot. For some reason the wire doesn't seem to allow the posting of pictures anymore, so I am not sure if these photos are in the right order. What they should show is as follows: Painting and priming of new fronts. We built a lot of new stuff this year so it is taking a lot of time. The church is in the background. In the forground in yellow and primer is the new Grand Hotel. What's amazing is that these stuctures are draw out on a computer and built, but we generally don't have the space or time to actually put them together before Winter Range. Hopefully, tab A will go into slot B like they are supposed too! Work on the new Boomtown Several of the newly cut 24" square pistol targets. Some of the Remington Bronze 1st place trophies. When they come in they have to be installed on a custom made black walnut base and the category tags affixed. When they are done they weight about 30 pounds each and there are 32 of them! Last Friday, February 7, the main tent started going up. Soon the entire parking lot will be filled with the main tent and vendor row. Things happen and plans change so there have been seveal cancellations. SO, there is still time and room to come to the biggest cowboy shooting event in the world! See you all soon. My better half and I will be flying out early Saturday morning. My shooting buddy and his wife left early this morning they are driving down. It should take them about 3 to 4 days of driving. Larsen E. Pettifogger, SASS #32933 Posted February 20, 2014 Author Share Posted February 20, 2014 This was a long hard day. About 40 to 60 people were out at the range from 7:00 am to almost 5:00 pm. Amazing how much has already been done on this first official day of setup. BUT, there is a LOT more to do and we will be busy working from dawn to dust the next three days. Then, hopefully, Sunday will be for the "Beautification Committee" to go around and touch up all the paint that gets scratched during set-up. There are lots of new props this year and they should make for an exciting time for returning and new shooters. Several vendors are are already arriving and getting ready to set up shop.
