Rip Snorter Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Traditionally pickled beetroot as I understand it. Quote
MizPete Posted February 8 Posted February 8 1) pickle on a burger is good 2) I like pickled beets therefore, I would eat that 1 1 Quote
Blackwater 53393 Posted February 8 Posted February 8 I won’t eat anything beet!! I’m sure that those who like them appreciate the flavor and doubtless they are healthy, but to me they taste like bad dirt! NO THANK YOU!! 1 1 2 Quote
Buckshot Bear Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Don't know how you eat a hamburger without beetroot OR pineapple.....just wouldn't be a hamburger!!!!! 4 2 Quote
Marshal Mo Hare, SASS #45984 Posted February 8 Posted February 8 I like beets. Sometimes I like them enough that I am reminded that I have beeturia, which is harmless. 2 1 Quote

Blackwater 53393 Posted February 9 Posted February 9 I like my pineapple chopped or crushed on a banana split or in a cake!! My mom used to put crushed pineapple on a large ham when she was baking it and that wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t really necessary. It has no place on burgers or pizza! Beets have no place or purpose!! 3 Quote

Pat Riot Posted February 9 Posted February 9 My wife makes a small ham in the crockpot occasionally and the only ingredient she adds is a 12 ounce (340ml) can of 7up or Sprite. We tried it with Mountain Dew and that was really good too. @Buckshot Bear can I assume Coca Cola Company sells Sprite in Australia? If not pretty much any Lemon-Lime carbonated soft drink will do. 1 Quote

Subdeacon Joe Posted February 9 Posted February 9 Pickled beets (beetroot - I guess as opposed to beet greens) on a burger sounds pretty good. Beats the heck out of an egg, sunny side up, that has the yolk running over everything within 10 yards. Hmmmm......chop the greens, saute with some chopped bacon and add those to the burgert too....hmmmm....... 1 Quote
Eyesa Horg Posted February 9 Posted February 9 I'd try it, but would prefer the egg not be too runny. Especially on a sandwich that thick. 1 Quote
Blackwater 53393 Posted February 9 Posted February 9 OH!! Give me that egg every time!! A little sprinkle of salt and a good dose of black pepper and we’re in DEELUXE territory!! If you ain’t wearing some of it when you’re done, it wasn’t really a burger!! 2 1 3 Quote

One of my sons has been to Maria Island many years ago, he still talks about how beautiful it was down there. Be proud J-Bar and hope she's having the bestest of times mate! 3 1 Quote
