Mom used to say "Getting old is not for the faint of heart."  89 - good till the last year, but she had her smarts to the end.  A slightly earlier exit probably would have been more pleasant for her.

I'm reading this as I lie in bed with pain patches and ice packs. Been skim coating and sanding ceilings in Kaya's new house. Shoulders are a tad sore.

I always thought of aged as a verb.

We will age the cheese. Later we find that the cheese has aged long enough.

While ay-jed is an adjective. He is an old person. He is an ay-jed person.

No and yes…

After you get older you’re ay-jed.

Once you age your cheese or you beef it becomes aged  cheese or aged beef!

I refuse to be ay-jed, but I am properly aged !

I'll take a loud motorcycle tailpipe over an aged human male's constricted front pipe any day of the week.

Personally, I am neither aged nor ay-jed.

I'm old.

Never underestimate old men!  They probably didn’t get old being weak or stupid!!

The late Paul Harvey one time made mention of "Seasoned Citizens."

I rather like that phrase.

I've known folks that could be described as rather salty ...

I turned 82 last week and I'm still cowboy shooting. Already signed up for the next shoot on Sept 7 and 8.  The new category for 80 and over is El' Patron

No we didn't and I have very few scars because it's easier to give them than it is to let someone scar me up.

Look carefully!!  Scars indicate survival!!

Scars are tattoos with better stories behind ‘em!!
