Her:  (at her door) "You're so virile!"
Him: "I was here before?"

IF! That job paid really well and there weren’t more than two kids!

My folks BOTH worked and times were still a little tight sometimes!!  Dad would work a second job now and then…

I wish I could enjoy that thing in your head that tells you what you did some time before, but I can't remember what it's called.  Oh, wait that's it.

Now what were we talking about?

And why you wanted to anyway.

No, but I remember scratching the AL off our potato sticks cans to see if they were bought from Schlitz or PBR.

And THEN SOME!!

Schoolmarm had one of the first classrooms in the state with personal computers and a curriculum that featured their use!

The first computer on my desk was a "blown" IBM XT.  My Wife bought it as obsolete from her employer and basically dared me to learn to use it. Saved my career when my peers had no computer expertise and the "universe changed."

Erector Set

Posted

There used to be a B&W TV show called Captain Video.  There was a plastic film you could put on the screen and draw on with special crayons as the show recommended and also a special replica Space Helmet you could order with points from sponsor products and a quarter.  Did both, can't remember what show the decoder ring was from, radio or TV - got one of those as well.  Computers? Not till I was well along as an adult, unless you count the one at college which used punch cards and took up an entire floor.  Wasn't a geek then, but I think you could play solitaire.  Still have my erector set in the box room and my Lionels as well.

Your body breaks down everyday and you die and little each day. Sucks!

 Not altogether true!!

The idea that the human body replaces all of its cells every seven years is a myth. The average lifespan of all cells in the body is around seven years, but different cells have different lifespans:

Skin cells: Replaced every few weeks, with people losing around 500 million skin cells per day

Red blood cells: Last 70–120 days

White blood cells: Last more than a year

Skeletal muscle cells: Take around 15 years to regenerate

Colon cells: Replaced every three to five days

Stomach lining: Renewed every few days

Bones: Refreshed once a decade

Neurons in the hippocampus: Renewed at a rate of 1.75% annually

The human body is constantly renewing itself through mitosis and stem cells. Mitosis is when existing cells divide into two new cells, and stem cells are special cells that can create copies of themselves and make new specialized cells
