Yep Jack don't know I put this up...

Thought all his friends might be interested to know & send their best wishes.

Came a gutsa' last week on his Harley, some broken ribs, concussion  & general soreness...up & about but taking it slowly.

The bike didn't fare to  well & is waiting for the insurance  company to give their  verdict.

I gave him a call [ I promised to not make him laugh ]..he has cancelled a few Cowboy shoots & will take it easy for a while.

Would've given Kathouse a scare I reckon...................

Hate to hear this!!  I’ve had to grow hide back and do extensive repairs a time or two and it’s not my idea of good times!!

Hope he heals up and hairs over quickly.  The iron can be replaced if it can’t be fixed. The Jackaroo, not so much!!

All the best Jackaroo for a speedy and full recovery mate.

Prayers up!

This is a new one for me. Had to look it up :D

Tell Jackaroo that Lidocaine patches work wonders on cracked, fractured or broken ribs.
Here we can buy them at the drug store. I think they’re 4% Lidocaine over the counter. I’m pretty sure prescription Lidocaine patches are 5% Lidocaine.

I have lots of experience with testing dirt, pavement and concrete at various speeds.
Anti-inflammatories help a great deal as well.

Howdy Pat.....Yep more of our Aussie slang, when Jack see's the post he will chime in with what happened...basically he had to leave the sealed road & ended up following a ditch which had a hidden tree stump that brought him to a sudden stop !!!!!

I'm surprised gutsa' was in the dictionary:D

So why didn't you share what gutsa is?

The first answer from Google.co.uk is a link to:

come-a-gutsa Verb.

(Australian colloquialism) To be thrown off a moving object at high speed, arms and legs flailing, landing on a hard surface and sustaining multiple wounds and broken bones.

"Slow down on that bike, Stevo!! You're gonna come-a-gutsa!!"

Thanks, that sure describes flying off a scooter.

@Jackaroo, # 29989 I saw you posted on several threads on the Wire so how about an update on you?  Hope your recovery is progressing well.

Hi Guys,

Yep Mohawk got it pretty right, if it had been dry I think I would kept it upright and be able lean in a bit more, but being bit wet was always a gamble. The guy behind me who saw it all unfold in front of him said I was that close but an inch or two on the grass/gravel is no easy task at that angle in the wet, I can be thankful to the good Lord there wasn't a vehicle coming the other way.???

Ribs are coming along ok, still sore sometimes in different places and can laugh a bit now.  Going for more scans next month just to check how they are coming together..

Will be at least till end of June before I'm back on the iron horse.:( and back shooting.

It will be another bike as they've written mine off, too costly to repair and beside might never turn out right. Will look for a nice comfortable tourer this time :)

Starting my own Seniors Club now, criteria to join is, must be at least three score and ten old, must have dumped a machine and broken some bones.:D:lol::o

Mate that could have been bad, glad you're on the mend and can see shooting in your near sights again.

Crikey didn't know there were crocodiles in that ditch...looks like one is about to chomp 'ya seat !!!!...:P...glad your on the mend Jack, doesn't take much nowadays to be written off, yep a tourer sounds good.

Ouch, looking at the damage to your scoot I can only imagine the damage to your honorable carcass!

No, no ... correction, correction ... I don't WANT!!! to imagine it.

Seen it too many times after 30 years under the lights and siren.

I've seen many helmets with obvious signs they paid for themselves, forgive my delight at seeing battle scars on the Skid Lid instead of your Scalp!

(That's easy for me to say! I wasn't the one that went backside-over-tincup when she hit that rascally stump!)

Heal up, pard, and commentators above have already given more and better recommendations than I could!

I’ve put my old scooter down a time or three!

I never broke any bones in a wreck, but I’ve had both feet broken from crap coming up off the road while riding! (The reason I have running boards now!).

Does that qualify me for membership??

Glad you’re on the mend Jackaroo. :)

I’m not 3 score and 10, but I am 3 score and 3 with 10 crashes under my belt. Would that count? Got lots of broken and mended bones.
Hey, after I’m cremated all the metal in my body could be melted down and used to make motorcycle parts. :D

Check out some Michelin Road 5 tires. Best wet weather tires in the world. If you get on a lot of dirt and gravel (or running ditches :D) check out the new Dunlop Mutant tires. I like ‘em for ridin’ here in West Virginia. Lots of gravel washes out into the country roads here. These tires don’t slide as easy on that stuff.

I have them on my bike now. My bike needs a bath.

Oh, it’s a lot of fun to ride. I love riding here. Lots of great roads. You just have to time it right so you don’t end up behind a school bus.
I have had bus drivers pull off so I could go by. People here are fantastic. Very nice and friendly.
If you ever get up this way, let me know. We’ll go for a ride. :D

The breathing ain’t so bad. It hurts some, but you adjust to it.  A cough, a sneeze, or hiccups can make you cry like a little schoolgirl!!

Any jarring movement can be really painful!

That one rib looks more displaced than the others.  Is it going to require surgery??

BTDT, take care Amigo!
