With the latest news regarding the death of Carrie Fisher, I look back with an increasing belief that the phrase aptly describes 2016 for the rest of us. It isn't simply the deaths of celebrities we know and admire such as Fisher, David Bowie, Alan Richman, Glenn Frey, and so many others it nearly boggles the mind. The deaths of so many law enforcement officers we became almost numb to the news. The divisiveness that has been a constant in our nation at seemingly every level, and in every manner conceivable. The political cycle that brought us two candidates that were more disliked than liked by the electorate, and a level of incivility toward them unmatched in my memory. I seriously cannot wait for this year to be over. If I'd known then what was coming, I would have kept my fingers far away from the keyboard. This year has been bad on so many levels, I am ready to put it behind me, and to try to find hope and optimism about the future. That is a real struggle. A reshoot? What we got was even worse. I hate to be a pessimist, but with COVID, Biden, joblessness, and China all running unchecked it doesn't look like 2021 is going to be a walk in the park either. I was somehow able to run into four Colt shooters eary year.. The four on the right. The one on the left is a family heirloom.
