I don't think he cares much at all what anyone thinks of him.
He averages around $390,000 per year just on YouTube (his main channel) which has made him around $7M since he started his channel.

He does. Not bad for a high school history teacher. 😀

I could never do what he does. I’ll bet everywhere he goes he runs into fans and non-fans that take up his time and interlope into his life.

Watched him again last night, a couple of video's on shooting a 1918 production 1911 and

a mid 80's Colt detective special.  Both were fun, and honest.

I like his stuff, and that's good enough or me.

YMMV.

I met him once at a NRA convention.  I wanted Mary to get a picture of us shaking hands. She thought it stupid and did a lousy job. Quickly snapped one lousy picture. I can't find it now. Women and kids. If pushed to do something they don't want to do, they'll make sure you regret it.

I've had a few folks wanting to picture with me and a few asking me to autograph their Marlin.

Basically, I didn't want to put my name on their gun.

But, I have met a few real pretty girls in SASS that I wanted to have my picture taken with them.   That made my day!

I was almost 6' tall in my better years so I didn't have to look up to to many people. A guy I worked with was over 6', maybe 6'4". That wasn't too noticeable.  Hickok45 is 6'9".  He sticks out in a crowd of people.  John,  his son, is a couple inches taller.

Years ago we were in one of our favorite toy stores and there was the tallest man I've ever seen up close.  He and owner was having a friendly conversation.  Somehow I managed to merge in. I finally asked the man his height.  7'5". He was not only tall, but built strong.  A mountain of a man.

Had a cousin merry a big, slow talking man from Alabama.  His shoulders were ax handle wide. Think Clint Walker.

Mary's brother was 6'3". Built like a gorilla. Had something like 26" inseam on pants.

Sure is a lot of hate amongst the gun community in general. Why do so many like to eat their own? I am sure it was a joke..... you know, kinda like how they used to use guns as tools back in the old days to nail things or whatknot.

This is one of the nicest firearms forum out there! I was a Moderator before on firearms forums and it is a nightmare. Thank you to the Mods here for watching the place.

The bad thing with some of what has been mentioned is, that is what the Bloomies are looking for to show how irresponsible we are. Why give them bait?? And some of the stuff I see on Utube could be downright dangerous!

I certainly don’t hate him I watch all his videos. I find some of his content silly but it works for him and he can get a little long winded. I do find fault with the unsafe gun handing banging on a fence with a gun how unsafe is that and who here would do that

It’s not unusual to see an 1800s SAA with numerous dents on the bottom of the grip frame. I have examined several. These came from cowboys hammering barb wire to fence posts. I think I even saw a Remington painting depicting this once. A pistol was a tool in the true sense back then.

You will also see marks on the barrels where they twisted the wire around it and used it for leverage to pull the wire tight.

Yup. A gun was a tool to them. Like a knife or a shovel they were smart enough to leave the hammer on an empty chamber too.
