Widder, SASS #59054
Y'all be careful. I find it a little hard to breathe in hot weather (95 and up). I love warm summer days, but it can be hard on ya and before ya know it........ you're zapped and bad things can happen. ..........Widder
Cholla
How about we have a match at Snowbowl? At 9000', it shouldn't get above 80.
Larsen E. Pettifogger, SASS #32933
We (ACSA) use to shoot up in Flagstaff or in Williams during the summer months. But, over the years ranges have closed and open areas have been closed to shooting. Everyone is older and less inclined to drive for hours and camp out for the night. Plus it was a chore to haul all the targets, props and shooting tables back and forth from Phoenix. Edited July 4 by Larsen E. Cholla
So, I guess taking the tram up to 11000' and having the match there is out.
Mad Dog Jack, SASS #77862
I grew up in Red Bluff, Ca where it often led the nation in heat and was often over 110 in August. I did not slow down much, played golf and other sports but stayed hydrated. Now when it is hot, over 100, I stay inside with AC and vegetate watching the boob tube. Larsen E. Pettifogger, SASS #32933
Last year (2023) the entire month of July was 110+. Even as recently as five or six years ago it did not matter the temp we were out on the range. Simply cannot do that anymore. Of course I do have my new shirt that is discussed in the Warm Weather Shirts thread. Maybe that will make 110 feel like 109. 2
Hashknife Cowboy
Summer is AZ is just plain hot! On the east side of Flagstaff my barn thermometer was at 100 yesterday afternoon. The entire free world from Maricopa County is in Flagstaff currently for the 4th, can't fault any of them either. As far as Snowbowl goes I say we all go shoot in Alpine in eastern, AZ. We all know this too will pass... man it's HOT! Edited July 4 by Hashknife Cowboy 1

Jedi Creeker, There are some on this Wire that have thought you were crazy......... and you may have just confirmed it... 😀 Of course, I'm not one of them..... 😇 I like summer and warm/hot weather..... but it sure can take its toll on some of us if we push our luck. Those temps are beyond my limits, unless I have a death wish. Have fun! ..........Widder

Could have been bad; but the Drs. were able to get in front of the issue. She will be recovering and able to come home in a few days. Mom generally works our small gunshop; but our local auction house had a firearms auction and we handle their transfers - so I am working our gunshop this weekend instead of shooting.
