Alpo
I had a Ruger 77 in 257 Bob, but the 77 is a heavy gun. Didn't like it. Traded it for a 7722H - 22 Hornet.

I would prefer one with the bore the size of a quarter .955 so a little bigger than a 20MM
Choctaw Jack
Savage 99 in 250-3000 was my first centerfire rifle, took my first deer with it. Moved on to bolt guns but I still love the 250-3000 cartridge. Choctaw Jack

I gave Sassparilla Kid one of my Model 20's - .250-3000, pictured below. @Palouse presented the youngster a barreled action (also in .250) that he's slowly bringing back to life - needing a stock. Actually, Palouse found all three of 'em for us! The first one I ever laid eyes on was one Hank bought back about 1971. He gave a fella $40 for the rifle and a Rolleiflex camera that he passed on to me. Love those li'l rifles... just under six pounds and handy as can be, often found with interesting rear sights like the Lyman 54 bolt-mounted model, or Marble's S-20. The Kid's has the S-20. Cheatin Charlie
My favorite .25 cal. rifle that I own is an original 25-20 SS Winchester Highwall with a #4 weight barrel. I bought it from a long time shooting friend a couple years before his death. When ever I take it to the range I think of the good times we had together.
Crooked River Pete, SASS 43485
I forgot I have a 25-35 MDL94. I always thought that with a 16" barrel that would be the perfect saddle gun. 1
