Linn Keller, SASS 27332, BOLD 103
Countdown has started, I've pushed the sled over the edge of the dropoff, I'm gripping the sides, gritting my teeth and waiting for the feeling that the world just fell away from me! Walked into the Superintendent's office and handed him my notice. My last day of work will be 31 July. On that day I blow the canopy, grab the red handle and PULL! Retirement, here I come! 20
Rip Snorter
Congrats! Do expect the first while to be disquieting, even if you are tired of the job and glad to be leaving. At least, that was my experience. Edited May 6 by Rip Snorter 1

Pat Riot, SASS #13748
Congratulations Linn I had a discussion with my boss’ boss’ boss today and he asked me how I was dealing with being a short timer. I told him “Well, in 59 days I won’t give a damn…I actually don’t give a damn now, but I want to appear to be going through the motions so I will play along nicely…for a while.” He actually laughed. May your last days at work be fun! 3

A friend of mine said that he had a neighbor who was a fighter pilot, who just prior to take off, he would tell whoever was in the navigator seat, "If I yell EJECT, don't say, "what?" Because I won't be here to answer you. Best wishes on your retirement. 1
