It is with great sadness that I have to report the passing of SanFernando Slim on Monday February 8 2021 due to complications from pneumonia. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers. The family will be having a memorial service later in the year when family and friends can attend.

Ride on ahead......Cap Roundtree

On September 20, 2020 the Northern California SASS family lost one of our founding members in the passing of Cap Roundtree, aka Michael Gardner. Cap Roundtree was one of the five founding members of the Mad River Rangers of Blue Lake California where we put on eleven annual SASS shoots. It was during those annuals that Cap met so many wonderful folks that eventually became part of his extended family. I am part of that extended family.

Cap was one of those guys that was hard to miss. He was a classic cowboy from the beginning, choosing to shoot original Winchesters that he had resurrected himself. From his huge mustache to his incredible laugh, he was a man to ride the river with.
He was quick to make you a friend, would have your back when you needed it and wouldn’t suffer fools. Opinionated, honest, hard working, he loved shooting, single actions, his 1887 shotgun; but nothing more than his family.

The world lost a one-of-kind. I’ll miss you brother.
