  1. At the height of the big and close era, anything other than a 24 inch square was considered by many to be immoral and un-American. I'm glad to see the pendulum swing back a little bit.
  2. I'm surprised shooters weren't all over Black MZ at $10.00 a pound. Maybe they thought it was too good to be true. I've got a bunch of it.
  3. I'm not sure, but I think so. Not being able to sell Colt clones in California would have devastated EMF. SASS growth was booming at the time.
  4. Well, we all will get to where you are one day. Unless we (or my widow) need the money, I hope to be able to pass all of my guns down to family and friends who will want them, and not turn them into cash.
  5. I'm sure it can be fixed as suggested, but I wouldn't worry about it.
  6. Yes, I believe they did something like that. I don't recall who it was they lobbied, the legislature, DOJ, governor, or whomever. A Colt style single action would never pass the drop test, and they argued that outlawing an iconic gun would be wrong. They were criticized for it by some in the 2A community for taking a, "Do what you want to those guys, but leave us alone" approach. I didn't see it that way, but some did.
  7. I was concerned that they might not be kissable after the match.
  8. When I first started shooting cowboy I saw a guy putting chap stick on his shotgun shells. Okay, I admit it, it was me.
  9. "That'll be the day." "Don't go in there. It won't do ya any good." "All right, Reverend, that tears it. From now on, you stay outa this." "You speak good American for a Comanch. Somebody teach ya?" Those and so many more from the Searchers.
  10. I'll throw in the line between mine and yours, from Robert Duvall as Lucky Ned Pepper.: "I call that bold talk for a one-eyed fat man!"
  11. Not my favorite part either, but they've been doing it that way since the dawn of the "docudrama".
  12. Ned, I aim to kill you in one minute, or take you back to Ft. Smith to be hanged at Judge Parker's convenience. Which'll it be?
  13. The Smothers Brothers ruined that song forever. It's pretty heavy stuff, but if you strum your guitar and sing, "As I walked out on the streets of Laredo.." somebody is going to laugh.
  14. Legend has it that he ejected Weaver so often that Oriole players would get up a pool and bet on which inning he would get tossed.
  15. A rare picture of a rattler that isn't thrust toward the camera on a long stick.
  16. 26 bucks for a custom badge is terrific.
  17. Forcing cones were all the rage when I started about 25 years ago. I don't hear it much any more.
  18. The moderators are minimum wage liberals. What else would you expect?
  19. Proper nouns are important, too. Would you rather help your Uncle Jack off a horse, or, help your uncle jack off a horse.
  20. And remember, a gerund takes a possessive pronoun.
  21. My last royalty check for "Passing Through Kansas" was $3.23.
  22. And as Maid Marion in "Robin Hood" she rode the horse that would come to be known as Trigger. Olivia De Havilland on Trigger is about as pretty as pretty gets.
  23. I was hoping it would be the Wonderama dance contest and "Crocodile Rock."
  24. Okay, but I'm curious. You say the responders missed the point, so, what was the point of the question?
