I would probably be a store clerk because I work for a retail drug store now but I would rather be on the open range or own a saloon. It all sounds like work but the change would be nice.

In my early years I'd probably be a train engineer. probably by the time I reached forty I'da been dead or a cripple. The miracles of modern medicine are the only reason I'm here now and walkin' around.

If not that then a lawman or an outlaw. Too dang lazy to do much else.:lol:

Lawyer? Doctor? Military? I don't know, but it seems those could be likely since I'm a lawyer, a medic and in the military now. I wouldn't want the life of a cowboy, too much work for too little pay. Owning a ranch, still hard work, but at least the pay would be a bit more to my liking.

My grandfathers were coal miners, so maybe a prospector?

I'd have been a jack of all trades, master of none, mountain man, cowboy, bartender, blacksmiths helper, livery man, lawman, miner, making just enough to get by. Might have even been a horse holder at Madam Orrs.

Okie, c'mon now, you know you'd have been a brothel owner.

I would have not made it past being an infant if not for modern medicine..

And sometimes circumstances will affect what direction one takes in life..

But had I lived back in the day, I would have probably lived among the Indians, or had my hair lifted by them..I would have been one of those who wanted to explore the mountains and plains, see what's past the next peak or horizon..Mountain man, scout, tracker, Buffalo hunter, doubt I would have been a townie or lawman, but who knows?..Probably would have wound up either scalped or hung..

Think I would be shoeing horses... (kind'a like I do now)... biggest differnce would be I would be heating my steel with a coal forge instead of propane!

I woulda probably been the town drunk (hence the name Long Branch Louie), but more than likely I woulda been on Boot Hill after being drunk and drawing on an 1880's version of Red River Ray....

Havin' a bright, cheerful day today, are we, Bobby?

Assuming I made it to adulthood, which according to UB would be highly unlikely, I'd probably been what I was/am in this life. Either a saloon owner or a sheriff/deputy/marshal. Come to think of it, those occupations are liable to get you dead, too!! :D:unsure:

I'd probably be following in the family business as a teamster hauling freight. That's what grand dad and great grand dad did in the old country. That or I'd be a hired hand on the ranch fixin' and taking care of what ever needed to be done.

The spirit of Augustus McCrae is haunting you now for forgetting gangrene.

If anything would have gotten infected, I'd have eaten my barrel first.

Just splashing a little cold historical reality on our Hollywood daydreams.

As they say...Life's hard in the West.

Assuming I lived past my teens (highly unlikely 'cause like most teens I thought I was immortal and/or indestructible) I probably would have either been a saloon/brothel owner or an outlaw.

Yup, life expectancy out west back then wasn't very long.

Most of us would have been buzzard food.
