Fly Delta? Nope....

I think I'd be avoiding Delta, and especially SFO:

A Bay Area passenger was forced to deplane from a Delta Air Lines flight and change clothes after a flight attendant took issue with her T-shirt.

On Oct. 16, Catherine Banks, a Marine Corps veteran, was asked to get off her flight, which was departing out of San Francisco International Airport. Once she exited the plane, the flight attendant explained that Banks needed to change because her shirt was “threatening,” Banks told NBC Bay Area (KNTV). It featured a message about veteran suicide rates in the U.S.

Do not give in to the war within,” the shirt read. “End veteran suicide.”

“I said, ‘Are you kidding me? I’m a Marine Corps vet. I’m going to see my Marine sister. I’ve been in the Marine Corps for 22 years and worked for the Air Force for 15 years. I’m going to visit her,’” Banks said.

“He said, ‘I don’t care about your service, and I don’t care about her service. The only way you’re going to get back on the plane is if you take it off right now.’”

...Banks also said that when she got back on the plane, she was forced to sit in the back instead of sitting in the seat she had paid for, which had extra legroom.

Some people are just plain nuts.  And I would think that some dude flight attendant could use a good slapping.

I hope she sues and takes Delta for millions.
I have my own issues with that airline, but that’s for another time / thread.

There should also be an Active Duty & Veteran Boycott of Delta.

I truly dislike Gloria Allred’s politics, but she is a very intelligent lady that knows how to win a case. She’s a media hound, but I can think of no one better to go after Delta. She did it once and in this case she could definitely do it again.

She should have taken the shirt off and sat back down.   Then demanded to see the captain and asked his opinion of the shirt.   I see nothing about the shirt that's offensive and don't see how anyone would find it offensive.   Anyone raising a fuss about it should have been escorted off the plane.

I would like to know the whole story, though.

EDIT:

Sorry,  "threatening," not offensive.   And that's an even longer stretch than just offensive.   How is wanting to prevent suicide threatening to anyone?

Here's the pertinent part. The bit I've highlighted in red is where this REALLY goes high and to the right. This guy NEEDS an attitude adjustment.

“Do not give in to the war within,” the shirt read. “End veteran suicide.”

Banks said that after informing the flight attendant of her service, she was still forced to change on the jet bridge and had to turn her back away from the flight attendant because she wasn’t wearing a bra.

If I was her, first I would not have gotten off the plane. If I had gotten off the plane and they told me I had to change my shirt before I got back on the plane I would have just gone back up the stairs. And I would have sat down in the seat I paid for. And I would have called the local television station and told them that some idiot on Delta flight blah blah blah was going to throw a customer off because he, the stewardess, did not like the shirt the customer's wearing.

Not that there had been any complaints by any other customers. The stewardess did not like the shirt so he took it upon himself to throw the passenger off the plane.

And if they, the TV station, might like to send out a news crew, because the passenger was not voluntarily leaving. They would have to drag her kicking and screaming off the plane. How did I know this? Because I'm the passenger.

Think that would make a good news broadcast for the 5:00?

I'll agree that the idjit needs to learn to rein in his mouth.  But it's the very part that you rubricated that makes me really want to know exactly what went on in the 5 minutes before he pulled her out.   What happened before where her narration starts?  Had the crew made some request of her that she ignored?  Was his statement one of general frustration at dealing with excuses? For example, if the woman had played the race card and the said, "Look, lady, I don't care that you're black and your sister is black.  You're going to do what you're told ir be kicked off."

This is like the YouTube videos that get posted showing a cop shooting someone in the back.  I want the dash camera footage that shows the person 30 seconds before shooting at people and still holding the gun when he gets shot.

So I guess wanting the whole story makes me a typical anti everything American Kommieformian, right?

Not in the least. I’d also like to see what happened about a minute earlier.

I await Delta's response.

Looking at news reports, even the leftist stations are reporting it.

I have opinions, strong opinions, but will await Delta's response.

If it were me, I'd wear a regular shirt onto the plane, then, after we took off, remove it to show a TRUMP T-Shirt.

I don't think so. Since the first assassination attempt, I taken to wearing a MAGA hat everywhere I go. The response has been OVERWHELMINGLY positive. People I've seen at the gym I go to for years, but have never spoken to, have stopped to tell me that they like my hat. People in Walmart and Fry's grocery stores have done the same. I've had people at yard sales tell me the same.

Now bear in mind, Pima County, which houses Tucson, has a 75% Dumocrat registration. If he's that popular here, I doubt that a squirrely Male Stewardess could do anything without everybody else saying anything.

Um ... no.  How do you know where that steward is from?   Delta is headquartered in Georgia.    Might could be he's a Good Ol' Georgia boy.

Accurate, but argumentative for the sake of nit picking.

Delta may be headquartered in GA, but SF is a major hub.
It is equally reasonable to assume that an originating flight in SF might be crewed with those who live there.

San Francisco is a cesspool.
Their woke behavior is well established.
Their treatment of the passenger in question is typical of woke S.F. behavior.

Just an update from NBC:

https://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/local/support-group-shirt-veteran-removed-flight/3687922/

"It's great to kind of see people rally around something," he said. "Our sales on that T-shirt is up over 4,000% just in the past 48 hours."

Banks said she hasn't received an apology from Delta, but the airline did offer her a free flight. She turned it down.

Delta said it is investigating the incident.
