GREAT NEWS!

JUst got off the phone with the surgeon!

When they decided they could not wait until Monday, they called a specialist in on her weekend off.

She was able to remove the adhesions "strangling" the bowel without removing any of the bowel itself. Just the adhesions.

No arthroscopic surgery, traditional large incision, but what the heck.

They won't let me in to see her until Tuesday AM, due to COVID protocols in place at the Montfort.

She's sedated right now and still full of tubes, but I should be able to talk to her tomorrow.

Off to bed now for a better nights sleep.

Thanks Pards for all the prayers and good wishes.

You know my phone number if you need it

Delighted at your update!
Not removing bowel is great!
Still standing up on my knees for you both!

Just returned from a one hour visit and I'm pretty upset.

They had removed the nasal drain tube, hoping she would be OK, but while I was there she started being sick again and lost body function.

They threw me out, re-inserted the nasal tube and cleaned her up.

I think they sedated her again, as when they let me see her for a few minutes, she was pretty groggy.

Please keep those prayers coming.

I'm getting scared.

They took the nasal gastric tube out again and gave her some juice and jello, only to see it again.

They had her sitting up for a while, to see if she could keep things down if she was sitting up, but she became cold and they put her back in bed, covered up.

She was groggy and tired when they handed her the phone.

I'm praying a lot here.

The stagecoach pulled out of here early this morning, loaded down with prayers heading for Ottawa.  They will only be stopping to change horses and drivers.  Hang in there, Kid, we are all with you and Sherron.

After some recovery, Sherron took another turn for the worse.

She hasn't had any solid food now for over a week, but they are giving her nutrients through the nasal tube and dextrose intravenously.

Covid protocols here only let me see her every other day, by appointment, for an hour.

Only one designated visitor is allowed but I have been able to get permission for our son to see her next Tuesday.

Thank-you everyone for the prayers.

Thanks Walt.

Saw her Tuesday AM It was against their regs, but I brought our son in so he could see her for a bit. He's been very upset and worried as well.

Nurses made an exception, but we could only see her one at a time.

She still has a nasal gastric tube and has had no food, other than what she's getting through the intravenous and what she can tolerate through the nasal tube.

I fed her some ice chips, one at a time and read to her for a while, till she tired and fell asleep.

Please keep her in your prayers.

I haven’t been keeping up.
I am so sorry to hear this Cold Lake Kid. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.

Edit:

When I had surgery years ago for Diverticulitis they removed half my large intestine. After surgery I had Pancreatitis and spent a few days very sick. I won’t go into details, but it wasn’t pretty or fun.
I know they are doctors and medical professionals, but did they check her for that?
