Not sure if its the overly emotional reactions to the recent shootings, or the blind stupidity of legislators and pundits who think that the world will suddenly change if US civilians are effectively disarmed - but either way, I need a place to hide from the news until it's time to stand up and be counted.

good luck with that, it's on every tv, internet forum, radio, etc...

I've even got a couple of "friends" sending text updates and panicking; had to tell them both to cease and desist.

I just switch the channel. Thank goodness for remote controls. I’d be exhausted otherwise.

Japan, Uruguay, and Venezuela have all issued travel advisories to their citizens about traveling to the USA:

https://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/local/Foreign-Governments-Issue-US-Travel-Advisories-in-the-Wake-of-Mass-Shootings-524630851.html

Forget the fact that their citizens are 100x more likely to get killed in a car wreck while they're here than by some crazed Rambo.

I never watch television news, of whatever channel or network. Haven't for years, except in extremely rare cases. It is designed to agitate.

I read newspapers. I get the same news, but  with much less emotional content. Digestion thus flows smoothly.

I personally do not know anyone who will be disarmed.

Myself, I'm not looking for a cave, but if anyone needs me, I'll be hiding under the bed where the real estate/mortgage/insurance people can't find me.....

Try reading Canadian "News"papers.

We used to call the so-called "news" reports Editorials. And left wing editorials at that.

Our progressive Prime Minister has just allocated 195 Million to news papers here in Canada, in addition to the annual 1.1 Billion given to the Canadian Broadcasting System.

Just prior to our October national election.

Just a coincidence.

Nothing to see here.

Move along - Move along.

Our 4 page weekly newspaper is a bit short on news except for the county commission meeting, church events, high school sports and crop reports. :D

As a diehard Red Sox fan I feel your pain, LL. East Coast Filly was born and raised in MA and we lived there for over 25 years after we got married. Still cheer for Bruins, Sox, Celtics and PATRIOTS!!!

I agree with wanted to just turn the damn world off for a while. I'm a California native, and absolutely can't stand the outright evil lunacy that has invaded this once proud welcoming state. Now the only folks welcome are illegals and the socialist left.

I'm glad I don't have cable or broadcast, but the internet is even worse.  The downside to the Internet and social media is how fast lies and agendas spread.

Let me guess...It’s all about the guns...not about human actions....

A couple of years ago I quit watching the news and reading newspapers. I quit looking at Yahoo and MSN news feeds on line and I managed my Google feeds (until I just got sick of battling their leftist stupidity).

I had also quit smoking.

I no longer take blood pressure meds. I am pretty sure stopping my daily dose of bull $&@# had as much to do with lowering my BP as quitting smoking.

Don't run to the caves or look for a hideout.

Stand on the front lines and be ready for battle with the rest of us.

Law abiding gun owners should have a motto.   Something like:

"Ya want em... come and get em.  WE ain't hard to find".

I agree with the sentiment, but in reality, if we do that we will get picked off one by one.  Better that they do not know the identity of  righteous gun owners when the time comes.  There is strength in numbers.

I just read some of the news Loophole was talking about.

Stupidity and Ignorance reign supreme in this country.

It is no longer the "Land of the Free". It is the land of the manipulated.

Even Bill Clinton is getting in on the act calling for a renewal of the Assault Weapons Ban.

If this isn't agenda driven I do not know what is. Not one thing I read mentions mental health reforms or the tracking and control of mentally unstable people.

These Motherhumpers want regulation? How about regulating some mental health and tracking those that need psych drugs to function?

That might be a good start.

Yeah, I'm a little PO'd...

Track mental health patients???

NO NO Pat!! You can't do that!!
