Trigger Mike Posted March 2, 2018 Posted March 2, 2018 My daughter is at a Christian school and they don't have theft there so she does not lock her locker but keeps the lock inside the locker but someone keeps putting it on the locker and locking it backwards making it hard to reopen. I suggested she put something sticky or glue or dye that sticks to find the culprit and get them to stop. Any ideas?
The Original Lumpy Gritz Posted March 2, 2018 Posted March 2, 2018 Maybe close the lock, before put'n it inside the locker. OR-Take the lock with her........ OLG
Sixgun Sheridan Posted March 2, 2018 Posted March 2, 2018 Yup. Someone is messing with her stuff so it's time to use the lock like nature intended.
Pat Riot Posted March 2, 2018 Posted March 2, 2018 Better yet...Buy your daughter one of these: I'll bet they keep their grubby little mitts out of her locker after opening the door on this thing....tell her not to slip in the puddle.
Trigger Mike Posted March 2, 2018 Author Posted March 2, 2018 ii told her she should always lock her locker.

The Original Lumpy Gritz Posted March 2, 2018 Posted March 2, 2018 Just how do 'we' know this is not some form of 'payback'? OLG
Major Crimes Posted March 2, 2018 Posted March 2, 2018 Sticky glitter (I think its sometimes called "stripper glitter") all over the lock. A friend came to work and left a trail of it everywhere after his kids were using it to make cards (that was his story anyway)
DocWard Posted March 3, 2018 Posted March 3, 2018 Another possibility is it is a member of the faculty trying to persuade her to lock it
Taquila Tab, Sass #25048 Posted March 3, 2018 Posted March 3, 2018 Put silver nitrate on the lock. Whoever touches it will have their hand turn black. It won’t wash off but rather has to be neutralized. (Assuming I remember my high school chemistry class correctly).
Tennessee williams Posted March 3, 2018 Posted March 3, 2018 First get a battery, some wire, a tub of bisquick...
Yul Lose Posted March 3, 2018 Posted March 3, 2018 I’d just have her lock the lock on the locker door, all problems solved.
W. D. Pickett Posted March 3, 2018 Posted March 3, 2018 When I was in LE, there was a compound called Contact Surveillance Powder. It was put on something that was being handled by a thief of other person and it would stain their fingers and hands a deep purple. It stained the skin about three layers deep and was almost impossible to clean off. It had to wear off. Search the internet and you can find some. Have you daughter (wearing gloves) put some on the lock. Then all will know who is doing this.

Charlie Harley, #14153 Posted March 4, 2018 Posted March 4, 2018 Wet towel on floor. Large capacitor. Just saying.

J-BAR #18287 Posted March 4, 2018 Posted March 4, 2018 Has the faculty been notified? Anything you do to the prankster is going to backfire on your daughter. Using the lock is the best answer.
Chili Ron Posted March 4, 2018 Posted March 4, 2018 Howdy, lock up or I do like the glitter idea, I hear its very persistant....and cheap. That dye is fine but how much is the cost? Any dye that shows under black light? Ive heard of such, never seen any. Once I heard of a fella who wondered if friends were getting nosy about his bathroom cupboard above the sink. He took a bag of marbles and put em in the cupboard and gently pulled out the bag. The next person opening the cupboard had marbles bounce all over the place. In a school hallway this would get a lot of attention. Best CR
Lorelei Longshot, SASS #44256 Life Posted March 5, 2018 Posted March 5, 2018 Back during the Great Depression, my Grandmother sent lunch with each of the four kids. They couldn't afford locks for their lockers, and someone kept stealing one of my uncle's lunches. Granny made him two sandwiches one day, one to carry and one to put in his locker. The one for the locker was laced with ipecac. Never had his lunch stolen from his locker again.
