Widder, SASS #59054 Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 Once again, the match was beautifully set up from the side matches, man-on-man (ladies too), team events (so much fun), main match, awards and banquet. Thanks to ALL the Wartrace Regulators and Vendors. You folks deserve a nice pat on the back. COMMENT: wish we could have shot 12 instead of 10 ............ Posse 5 (we were more a Tribe than a Posse... ) was Super D Duper with Shamrock Sadie being the War Chief. Ya done good Sadie. Looking forward to 2017. ..........Widder
Fast Harley,SASS#34953 Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 A beautiful weekend in middle Tennessee! A big thank you to Papa Dave, Whiskey Hayes, Randy Saint Eagle, Cumberland Drifter, Wes Outlaw, Charlie Bowdrie, Berm Marshals, the Ladies and Gentlemen behind the scenes, any and all who had a hand in this great state match. Just a few twists and turns in the match, but one reason I love it is that always, at least on a stage or two, you have to think about how to do it so that it works for you. If there was no challenge what good would it be? Last Kiss and I had a very enjoyable few days. Good friends, great posse, great food, (and along that track, went to Bell Buckle Café three times.) It is my understanding that there are no rules as to how many times you can eat there. Clean, reasonable rate hotel stay in Tullahoma! Nice travel to and from, (except the traffic jam on 24!) Sorry we had to leave in the afternoon after the match and miss the banquet. Maybe someone will tell us how that was. Congrats to the Overall Champs, the State Champs, the category winners, and Clean Shooters, like me! If the world stands, and outside issues don't interfere,(perish the thought,) we will be back next year. Harley.
Big Iron Ranger Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 Come back anytime Widder! I'll be happy to re-set the shotgun targets just to get to watch you shoot! Enjoyed meeting you and the Marlin tips. BIR
Ocoee Red #31751 Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 As Widder and Fast Harley both said, the Wartrace Regulators did a great job as usual. Got to see some old friends and made some new ones. Congrats to all!
Smokin' Dave Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 Had lots of fun with the black powder side match and the main match. Great door prizes, great food, meeting great people like Gray wolf Tate and Christian Mortician. My cap and ball pistols all went boom followed by a clang. Found out Ocoee Red is a true Vol's fan. I also still think Wartrace is still on of the prettiest ranges around. Thank you to all.
Tn Tombstone Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 I will add my thanks and congratulations on a fantastic match. The Wartrace Regulators always put on a first class match with plenty to do all day and most of the night. Thanks for all the hard work and fun memories. Sure to be back next year, just hope I shoot better. By the way the awards banquet was wonderful and held in a huge hall with plenty of room for everyone and everything. Posse 8 Rocked, great posse to shoot with and work with. Thanks for all the help.
Rolan Kraps, SASS # 24084 Life Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 Bea Itchin' and I had a great time at our first Wartrace State Match. The only thing that I would change would be to add Steampunk Cowboy / Cowgirl as a shooting category, and not just a dress category.
Jackaroo, # 29989 Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 Kat and I had a great time at this match. The range is great one of the best we've shot on, and we have been to many , many ranges. Congrats to Randy, Wes and Whiskey plus all the others for putting on a great event. We hope to come back some day. Jack n Kat.
Imis Twohofon,SASS # 46646 Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 Yall come back, we enjoyed havin ya.
Lucky R. K. Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 I would like to add my thanks to everyone who contributed to make this a great match. From the weather to the stages to the folks on posse five it was great. Hope to do it again next year. Lucky
Randy Saint Eagle, SASS # 64903 Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 Thanks for the kind words from everyone and thank you all for coming to shoot with us. Without the shooters it would be nothing. Hopefully before next year we can round up a little adult refreshment to give away. Rolan I have already brought this up to be looked at. Hope to see you all again next year. Randy

It was great getting to know some of the Tenn crowd and spending time with our cowboy/cowgirl family. It was a fantastic match, as always and we are so looking forward to being at the Tenn. match next year. Happy trails! Shamrock & Knot
Joe West Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 Posse 10!!!!!! Had a great time as always and I've been to all of these. Thanks to everyone, it's hard work but results like this are worth it. Looking forward to next year already pards.
Waimea Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 Is there dry camping (little red tent) on-site or near the range? This match is on my radar for '17. Waimea
Tn Tombstone Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 There is camping where we stay, it is about 10 miles from the range with plenty of grass, bath house and maybe some adult beverages.
Krazy Kajun Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 Maybe? KCD Ah, but does it have a corral? Kajun
Waimea Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 There is camping where we stay, it is about 10 miles from the range with plenty of grass, bath house and maybe some adult beverages. Sounds like a winner. Grass for Blue Eyes. Adult beverages for ... well, I have had an occasional sip or two. Corral is not necessary. Waimea
Randy Saint Eagle, SASS # 64903 Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 Waimea, on the range there is not much area flat enough for a tent without being on gravel. But I understand the campground where Tombstone and many others stay is nice. Randy
Tyrel Cody Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 Waimea, on the range there is not much area flat enough for a tent without being on gravel. But I understand the campground where Tombstone and many others stay is nice. Randy What about up next to the long range?
Randy Saint Eagle, SASS # 64903 Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 Not much flat area up there either except parking Randy
Waimea Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 It was all over when Tombstone dangled the bathhouse at the campground. The adult beverages just pushed the deal off the cliff. Waimea
Tn Tombstone Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 Well, its a horse wash down stall but it has a shower. Waimea couldnt stay at the range by himself, he is a social animal that would need to sit around the campfire and tell lies...I mean stories.
Krazy Kajun Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 Well, its a horse wash down stall but it has a shower. Waimea couldnt stay at the range by himself, he is a social animal that would need to sit around the campfire and tell lies...I mean stories. I like to refer to it as "the truth as I best remember it." Of course given my age, mental state and a sip of something from a mason jar my memory ain't what it used to be Kajun
Waimea Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 Well, its a horse wash down stall but it has a shower. Waimea couldnt stay at the range by himself, he is a social animal that would need to sit around the campfire and tell lies...I mean stories. I do like to socialize. Horse stall shower... NEVER MIND. Miss Mo would throw me off here so dang fast. Anyhow, I like campfires where there's other people around. Waimea
Tn Tombstone Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 Just think of it as a really big shower stall.
Colorado Coffinmaker Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 NO pictures ...... Didn't Happen
Titus A. Gnatsass, SASS #71705 Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 Sounds like a winner. Grass for Blue Eyes. Adult beverages for ... well, I have had an occasional sip or two. Corral is not necessary. Waimea Nice quiet campground, lotsa fun cowboys'n'girls sittin round the fire, just a few minutes from the range. And if the weather turns off too cool, Fannie and I would be glad to let y'all use the shower in our RV. Hope ta see ya there next year. It's a great match!

I don't think I thanked you near enough for helping with the internet issues I had at BAC. I'll keep your offer in mind but if the horses don't mind sharing then I guess that's good enough for me. Waimea
Titus A. Gnatsass, SASS #71705 Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 Seriously, the offer stands. And you are welcome, glad we could help. As for the match, it had been at the top of our bucket list of shoots we hadn't been able to make. Retirement has allowed us to start dippin into that bucket. TN State at Wartrace was all I expected and more. You won't be disappointed.
Randy Saint Eagle, SASS # 64903 Posted October 17, 2016 Posted October 17, 2016 Waimea, hope you can make it next year. Titus, thanks for the kind words about our match, hope to see you and Fannie back next year. Randy
