It was the NFL top brass that ignored the people. They haven’t knelt for the Anthem for quite a few years. All it takes for evil to prevail is for good men to stand by and do nothing. Enjoy the game. Just remember that none of the other players said or did anything about the "few".

Obscene or true? 🫣 He would be gutted in record time if he said that to my daughter. She bought her "Bronco Billy" in about 1982 and has restored it once or twice since then. Even had it repainted another time. She also has a Subaru Forester (?) with all wheel drive, but it was useless after the recent hurricane because of insufficient ground clearance when the mountain fell on their access road. Billy came through for her. Edited November 25 by Forty Rod SASS 3935

Subdeacon Joe
A question for all the "I ain't watched the NFL since (pick a date or event)!" types. Do you write the NFL at least once during the season to say why you don't watch? And why you boycott products that advertise during the games? I write the commissioner at the start of each NFL season, explaining why I won't watch his version of football. I have gotten rid of anything that had something to do with any NFL team. I have also written a number of companies who advertise during games - but that is limited to what ads I see now since I have no idea who is currently advertising with the NFL as it is hard to know if you don't watch. Funny thing is back in the '70s and '80s when stationed in West Germany, the commercials were blanked out so the Army wouldn't look to show any preference to advertisers. Every once in a while, they would miss an ad - and we would talk about that ad a lot more than the game.

Because I've NEVER watched sports of ANY kind. I have no interest in football, basketball, baseball, hockey, soccer, NASCAR, or wrestling. Okay, I used to watch wrestling, but I stopped when Hulk Hogan retired. I've mentioned this before, but when I was a kid growing up in Columbus Ohio, my family was NUTS over OSU football and basketball to the point that I almost had it rammed down my throat. Every family gathering turned into another session of the men huddled in front of the TV yelling at it over whichever ball game was being played while the women sat and gossiped over people that I didn't know, many of them being relatives that were dead long before I was alive . Add to that my Dad's constant watching sports on TV, caused me to develop a healthy dislike for it. I don't like sports, and I consider my life that much fuller for it. Blackwater 53393
I watched my first NFL game this year, yesterday. I just haven’t gotten into it this year. I played baseball, football, and tennis in high school and juggled them with holding down a job. Dropped football first because of a very intense disagreement with a coach! I dropped baseball, although I hated to, when it began to interfere with my job. I continued to play tennis, since it was played right after school and I could be at work on time unless we traveled. I also raced on many weekends and kept some kind of hotrod around from before I could drive legally. Team sports is a great way to teach personal discipline and responsibility as well as co-operation and mutual respect. I coached youth baseball and basketball and administered a youth athletics program for my community and was District Director for the midstate baseball franchise as well! All this while holding down a not so regular job, running a three, and sometimes as many as six, car drag racing team. Yeah!! I’m into sports!! AND MUSIC!! And anything mechanical, including my guns and motorcycles!

Because the few that did got called out by the press and ostracized for it. Also, there were only a few that didn't participate in the kneeling. There are a lot of young kids out there today that have been told their entire life that they are evil monsters and the country they live in is also evil. Not for something that they did, but because 200 years ago someone that they are not in any way affiliated with did something that was completely legal and entirely socially acceptable at the time. About 160 years ago we changed the way we think. We made many things socially unacceptable and sometimes illegal. But the youth of today are still being told that they are responsible for what happened 200 years ago. Their teachers, the legacy media, social media, the activists, and SJW's, and in this case the NFL, united to make them feel responsible for it, made them feel ashamed of who they are and where they live, made to feel that their lives are unimportant, and the world would be better off without them in it. It's time to stop shaming the youth of today for what happened 200 years ago. Kneeling on the flag was about hate and hating the country and youth of today. Most of us here are older and much stronger emotionally than an 18-year-old is, it doesn't bother us as much, but when you're young it matters to you what others think of you. That's why I don't and will not watch the NFL. I don't want to finance this behavior.

My Grandpa took me to a few OSU football games. We always left early because he'd get P.O.ed that they were losing. I just can't understand getting wrapped up in watching somebody else do something. Especially as invested as some people get into it. I know I've told this before: When I was stationed in Massatoshits, if one of the local teams, (Celtics, Patriots, Red Sox) lost a game, all it took was to mention that they lost to have a couple of the Marine Reserves on duty jump up ready to throw hands over it. I've been to Cowboy shoots on the days of University of Arizona games, and seen people pack up to leave after the third stage of a five stage Shoot so that they could go home and watch the game. I was flabbergasted. I know that we've had this same discussion before, Rye. I'm glad that you enjoy it, I don't, and I never will under how people can get so involved in it to the point that their lives are consumed by it. Smokin Gator SASS #29736
If I had never participated in a sport and had very little knowledge about the sport I wouldn't be surprised that I couldn't recognize the ability it takes to perform at a high level in it. Or my lack of enjoyment watching others do it. My enjoyment of watching pro sports went downhill gradually over the years as players began all the chest thumping, look at me behavior. Especially when they're losing by 3 touchdowns . If a player makes a once in a lifetime great play or the game winning play, sure, celebrate all you want. I used to write about four letters a day to politicians, sponsors, team officials. newscasters, left wing actors and other artificial people. I only got a handful responses. Two stand out, both California Senators: Barbara Boxer, who always sent the same auto letter thanking me for my support. I NEVER supported her on ANYTHING. Dianne Feinstein, who always send a personal letter (From her or a staff lacky, but always over her signature) addressing my letter in such a way it that convinced me that someone had actually read it. I never got the answer I wanted, but at least I got a decent and almost friendly response. While I have no respect whatsoever for Boxer, I have to admit that I believe Feinstein would have been someone I could talk to...and I do respect her for that. She was a person like Tip O'Neil who got along with "the other side" without being a horses as patoot.

Even the time whoever sent it made the mistake of sending me both the "Thank you for your support" and "We will have to agree to disagree" emails. The "support" email included a couple of paragraphs about why she was at that time putting some of her anti-gun legislation on the back burner and details on some of her "common sense" bills. Written tests a Philadelphia Lawyer couldn't pass and practical tests that a Camp Perry champion couldn't pass. Babs "I'm too importanttobe called Ma'am" Boxer was a piece of work. Her office was one of the ones that sent me the letter telling me that I should stop writing and calling because that worthy knew what was best for me, didn't need nor want outside opinions, especially opposing opinions.
