China and Ammo Components

This is a direct result of “outsourcing”, something that should never have been allowed!!

There is an abundance of products and materials that we STILL have as much of as any nation!!  We have chosen to sell out our own industry for cheap labor and cheap products from nations that would just as soon see us defeated and dead!!

We’ve closed down operations in our country that are essential in times of conflict, be that military or economic!!  By creating standards for production that, literally, NO OTHER NATION follows, we’ve made it practically impossible for US companies to stay in business, much less be competitive!!

The people responsible for this should be pilloried!!

Starting with the US consumer, to whom price means everything.

I represented an old American company that sold what I'll call widgets. Their production was US based and they strongly wanted to remain so.

Their widget hung next to the Chinese widget at the hardware store. Theirs was better, but the Chinese one was reasonbly good. Theirs was 22 dollars, the Chinese 18 dollars.

The America-first working man started buying the Chinese product instead of theirs. Eventually, they had to move their production to China. True story.

I have always bought American if it was available, sometimes with less than satisfactory results.

There’s STILL nothing that we can’t build better.  There are many things that we used to make that are now made cheaper, both in cost and in quality, in other countries. Countries that don’t have our, or any other country’s, best interests in mind!

Portions of our own labor force have priced themselves out of the market when it comes to international competition for contracts and for products to sell!

It’s our fault. A part of human nature that makes us want more and better, but for some, doesn’t come with an equal desire to sacrifice in order to get more and better will eventually yield these results.

Boeing union workers just turned down a 30% raise, better medical and better pension and stayed on strike. Go figure.

Unions helped build America and have helped destroy our competitive edge

They’re demanding 45%, shorter hours, and longer vacations among other things!

A prime example of what I spoke of!

They should get on a boat and go to Europe if they want that lifestyle.

I have two words for them, but I can’t say them here.

They should be thankful they are not fired and hit with a pay cut. Unions are destroying this country. Sad ,at one time they were needed not now with all the labor laws.

This began happening in the mid 90s, when corporations decided to shy away from elevating their own internal Operations folks to CEO and COO positions. And instead, began promoting the Finance people, or hiring Finance people from outside the company as CEO and COO. All they knew how to do was find ways to lower the costs and raise profits without regard to impact on suppliers, operations, logistics, customers or product quality. How's that working out now?

They want 77% pay increase over 6 years and restrictions/bans on automated cranes/unloading equipment. They were offered 40% and called it "a joke".

They make $39hr on the east coast and $54hr on the west coast at the present time.

The American consumer is the ones getting screwed every time by crap like this.

Perhaps it is time for the government to give some relief to businesses and corporations that are being crushed by exorbitant demands from the unions that have been given EVERY monopolistic break that can be thought of!!

Perhaps it’s time to put a lid on “collective bargaining” since it has become more like extortion!!

This started in the late '60s when the Ecologists decided that all heavy industry should be moved out of the United States.

YES SIR!! That is one of the biggest contributors to the materials and components shortages!  We’ve given up our advantage in industry for a very minimal gain in perceived safety!! That has come around to threaten our security and thus our freedom!!

”He who would give up freedom for safety deserves neither!”
