Coyote Kid, SASS#54714 Posted May 11, 2024 Posted May 11, 2024 So, the neighbor and I are having a discussion on which flavor of "Black Rifle" coffee tastes the best. For those that drink it, let's hear your opinions. Thanks, Coyote Kid
Rye Miles #13621 Posted May 11, 2024 Posted May 11, 2024 I only tried one once, the Freedom roast, I wasn't impressed. Kinda bitter and expensive. I think I'll pass.
bgavin Posted May 11, 2024 Posted May 11, 2024 There is Art in brewing tasty coffee. Bloom your coffee for a minute before starting the final pour-over. This lets gasses in the coffee dissipate instead of going down into the brew mix and causing bitterness. Brew it stiff. Starbucks uses about seven 1/8 tblsp of coffee for a 12-cup Melitta pot. This we determined by my wife's coffee snob friend, who tested various mix strengths until she get the Starbucks equivalent. We backed off by one scoop (1/8 tblsp) for a total of six. Five decaf and one hazelnut. I use the Costco Kirkland 100% arabica decaf, and grind WinCo decaf hazelnut as Fine~Espresso. She goes through a pot to a pot-and-a-half daily. I had to give up all coffee due to caffeine even in decaf that constricts cardiac arteries. I mix a pot of Teccino which is non-caffeinated entirely. It ain't coffee, but is a heckuva lot more tasty than Postum.
Rip Snorter Posted May 11, 2024 Posted May 11, 2024 This morning, we are enjoying Black Rifle Hazelnut perked on the stove top. We have yet to find one of theirs that we dislike. Our standard is Beyond Black.

Texas Maverick Posted May 11, 2024 Posted May 11, 2024 I don't drink coffee but sure did like their commercials. TM
Dantankerous Posted May 11, 2024 Posted May 11, 2024 Texas Freedom Blend was incredible. I have not seen that in several years.

ORNERY OAF Posted May 11, 2024 Posted May 11, 2024 I like CAF and AK-47, both strong and good... blackbeards delight pretty good too. Nothing hard about coffee, put grounds in pod, put pod in kuerig, push play..drink good hot coffee, rinse, repeat
Rooster Ron Wayne Posted May 11, 2024 Posted May 11, 2024 I have found it really don't matter what coffee you use as long as you put in a shot of Bourbon !
Okie Sawbones, SASS #77381 Posted May 11, 2024 Posted May 11, 2024 Why is anyone calling Black Rifle grifters? Am I missing a good story?

Well I know many in the SpecOps Units and the Stories about Haver and his lawsuits and well the Crenshaw deal against several SEALs and the backstabbing of Gallagher I want zero to do with them. And wont even get started on the gun control funding Grunt style shirts I use Bison Union was a Green Beret ,more local donates to rodeo and does Ranching , the other I really like is the Dark Bosque Ranch community coffee
Coyote Kid, SASS#54714 Posted May 12, 2024 Author Posted May 12, 2024 I always wondered what brand coffee the Navy used. When grabbing a cup of mud from the mess deck on mid watch's, it would keep your eyes wide open and your stomach growling. OK, I see "Blackbeards Delight" is ahead by 2 to 1.

Mad Dog Jack, SASS #77862 Posted May 12, 2024 Posted May 12, 2024 I tried their coffee some time ago, ordered their pods on Amazon, Beyond Black and CAF. Read about the controversies, thought what I read was much ado about nothing. Good coffee but I did not reorder, thought it was to expensive compared to what I was drinking.
