bgavin Posted February 7, 2024 Posted February 7, 2024 I read the cause was stomach cancer. Chewing tobacco?

USA Today doctor interview "There are many risk factors that increases the chances of getting cancer, such as age, sex, diet, and alcohol and tobacco use, among others." I'd guess all of those factors could apply to him.

bgavin Posted February 7, 2024 Posted February 7, 2024 Because two of my daughters are R.N.s, one in oncology. They see the esophagus rebuilds after losing it to chaw. One of my lodge brothers was a smoker and chewer, and lost his to cancer as well. My Uncle Joe died from mouth cancer, same reasons. Alcohol combined with tobacco is the double whammy... the alcohol washes the protective mucus away, and allows the smoke/chew more direct contact with those tissues. I don't have a dog in this fight, so I don't give a hoot about the bad choices others make. They have to live with the consequences of those choices, not me. The vast majority of deaths in musicians is from heroin. So many of them also have alcohol problems as well. It's a tough life.
Lone Spur Jake SASS #7728 Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 Have been listening to CD's and watching DVD's I have of him since I heard of his death. One of my favorite singers and entertainers of any kind of music. Kid Rock said he was called the "Big Dog" of country music. Made 10 or 11 tours for our military during the middle east conflict. An American whose life should be looked at by our young people. Proud, hard working, tax paying, family man, American citizen.
sassnetguy50 Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 He had a late 2000's album titled Big Dog Daddy. He named his company Big Dog Cannabis. Guessing he was proud of the name.
