What to expect at Comin-at-Cha

I've heard great things about this shoot and have shot with T-bone.  What should I expect regarding targets, vendors, weather, and overall experience.  I'm headed down with 3 other vet's for the shoot this year. We all have been to Winter Range, Large State Shoots, and lots of different local shoots.  I know the reputation is excellent and have shot with T-Bone at WR and Illinois State Match in Sparta. some years ago. He's a Hoot.

Tell me what to expect. I'm really looking forward to it.

Expect some fine Texas hospitality!  T-Bone and the crew have a large party barn, so there was live music in the evenings to enjoy while visiting with folks.  Last year was quite hot, so planning around that is always a good idea.  I've only shot there once, last year, so I can't tell you how the targets are likely to be set up, but be prepared for knockdowns.  Shot Ironman last year, so make sure to load up if you're shooting that option.  Overall, the entire club couldn't have been more gracious.

Like Johnny said and Wow! It's my favoritest shoot of all. It is a shooters shoot with 12 stages, Wild Bunch, Pro Steel and multiple categories to shoot ifin ya want. Like they say, "just do it!" You won't be disappointed. Hope to see you there. Less than 4 weeks to go, can't wait.

Generally four stages of what most would categorize as big and fairly close targets, four stages of a tad more challenge (think, chickens), and four stages of knockdown plates and/or racks.  Nothing to far, all very doable with fun.  90% under cover and some real big fans.  Pickers, such as the Reckon Crew, in barn most every night.  For those who want to shoot LOTS of ammo there are several more disciplines than just cowboy., and you can even tack on an extra cowboy category.  Can you handle 2 cowboy categories, sides, long range, Pro Steel, and Wild Bunch?

Preacherman, get ready, you may get real entertained on Posse One.

I believe the stages use the plant and poke rule is in effect if you aren't used to that.

Dang Bar 3 chickens are the worst.....they got good eyes so they know when you are aimed at them.  Them little scratchers get the yips about that time....you'll miss them by just a little bit.

Most folks shoot 'em in the big part.  I shoot 'em in the head... so then they have "eyes" and do a better job of duckin when other folks shoot at 'em!  Expect 3 days (or more) of party with a shootin' match to fill part of the daylight hours!

9-12 usually have some knockdowns of some sort.  Plenty close though.

CAC is a premium entertainment and competition match! T-Bone and the family/gang at the BAR3 treat everyone that visits like a VIP and it is something that they truly believe!!

There are, maybe, two or three places in SASS where you can find the level of competition and the level of hospitality you’ll find there!

Wish I could be there!!

Petey's STILL whining about being 'given' a miss when he shot through the hole where the hanger is.

Don't fret over the KDs... my .36 Navies with round balls take 'em down.

Possibly the hardest shot in all of SASSdom!  But... no clang, no hit!   Hint... also avoid the "feathers"!

CaC is one of those matches that once you go you’ll want to come back.  As far as weather, well that’s a crap shoot, last year it was warm and dry, couple of years ago it was wet and cool, best bet is to look at the weather prediction for the weekend.  Everything is held onsite, so if you’re camping you don’t have to leave.  There is usually a pot luck dinner one night, but every night there are things going on, last year we played BINGO for prizes (I never heard the barn as quiet as when the numbers were called).  As far as shooting, 4 stages over 3 days run in 3 waves per day, so one day you’ll shoot morning, another will be early afternoon and a late afternoon.  The pro steel is at night.  If you want to shoot 2 categories go for it, you’ll be shooting 8 stages per day, or you can join the Iron Cowboys.

There’s lots of fun, camaraderie, food and give aways and every year T-Bone seems to come up with new ideas to keep it fresh.

Look forward to seeing ya there RT.

This will be my third CAC and can't wait for it. Bring plenty of ammo and a cooler with Gatorade type drinks. Is there a list posted with Posse assignments yet?

I don't see the Shoot n' Scoot on the schedule. Did that fall victim to the PCC match?
