Alpo
An excellent one - not part of the Thin Man series - is called I LOVE YOU AGAIN. Bill is a crook, who gets slugged and loses his memory. He runs a pottery factory in some little bitty town, and is married to Myrna. Several years later he gets slugged again and regains his memory. Remembers he's a crook. Discovers to his delight that he is married to Myrna. Then discovers she wants to divorce him because there's no pizzazz in their marriage anymore. We have robberies and we have con games and we have Myrna's new boyfriend. And he's got to fix all of this because originally he just lusted after his wife but now he's fallen in love with her, and he wants her back. LIBELED LADY is another good one. Spencer Tracy runs a newspaper, and Myrna is a rich man's daughter. Tracy runs a not nice article, and Myrna screams libel, and is going to sue for a couple of million dollars. So Tracy hires Bill to get something bad on Myrna. That way she'll drop the suit.

At the beginning of the first one, she uses the dog to track him down. Finds him in a bar. They sit down at the table and the waiter brings them both a martini. She asked him how many that made and he told her six, so she told the waiter to bring her five more. The entire scene the next morning she has an ice pack tied to her head.

Part of a William Powell movie marathon, I believe.
Alpo
I like that side arm cast. And the look on his face. Oh this - this is so simple. You can't do this? Wow. I thought everybody could do this.

Forty Rod SASS 3935
Just about my favorite batch of movies. I check the whole lot out of the library about once a year and just spend a weekend watching them. Myrna Loy wasn't a classic beauty but she had a presence that made her the center of almost every scene she was in. She and Powell were a perfect match.
Smokin Gator SASS #29736
Those are fun movies. As far as excessive drinking, the Bewitched program in the 60s had a surprising amount for a comedy show.
Alpo
It's always shocking to see pregnant Samantha knocking back the martinis with Darren and Larry. Times, they have changed.

Reminds me of my favorite Dorothy Parker quip; "I love a good martini, two at the very most. Three, I'm under the table; four, I'm under the host." bgavin
I find our new Hisense U8H 4k tv does a crap job on low resolution source. My bride is a huge fan of the Crime Channel (murders and autopsies), but their broadcast quality is abominable. This is antenna sourced, and did OK on our old 46-inch Samsung 1080P set. It is just plain awful on 4k. I have many DVD and ISO that play better on 4k than does Crime, but not by much. Huge bummer, as I have so many favorite movies in DVD only, and not in print in BD or 4k.
