McDonalds soft drinks

Recommended Posts

Mickey Ds has their summer drink special, any soft drink any size $1.00

So on the way home from the shoot today I pulled in the drive thru and I ordered a large iced tea. The girl said that’ll be $2.50. I said I thought all soft drinks were $1.00 it says so right on this menu! She said “ iced tea is not a soft drink”. I said Really?? What is it? She said it’s iced tea! I ordered a large coke!!!
So my question is don’t you think iced tea is a soft drink??
Apparently not according to Mickey D’s!!🙄

Also not according to dictionaries:

soft drink
noun
: a usually carbonated nonalcoholic beverage
especially : SODA POP

Okay 👍🏻 It does say “ usually  carbonated” . I mean how much would it cost them to include iced tea on their special?

They probably mean carbonated drinks that's what they make their money on

Well you can get hot or iced coffee for a buck too! That’s not carbonated. Read down to the third paragraph in this link. What’s different about iced tea?

Cutting out as much sugar,  I almost never drink soda. I can't stand diet cola.  I've been away from it so long I can't stand any of it. I drink a lot of tea. Brewed or instant.  Mary has been buying me unsweet Pure Leaf tea for convenience when we are on a drive. But they don't stock it with lemon.  In any case, it's a lot cheaper by the 6 pack in store than one at a time out of a convenience store.

I did succumb to temptation and bought a Coke made in Mexico with real cane sugar. It tasted like I remember Coke when I was a kid. The regular crap now is awful.  I understand McDonald's get a special mix of Coke. Supposedly,  it tastes better.

I hardly ever drink coke or Pepsi but after a long day at the shoot and an hour ride ahead, I wound up with a Coke at McDonald’s and it was pretty tasty!

Just go inside, order a large Coke, then go over to the fountain and fill it with Iced Tea.

It may not have made it to Ohio yet, but in a lot of places they are removing the "Fill it yourself" fountain because they're doing away with free refills.:(

I go there occasionally, their $5.00 meal is a great quick lunch. Double cheeseburger or Chicken sandwich, small fries, 4 nuggets and a drink.

Respectfully disagree.  Their hamburgers are smaller and don’t taste like then did in the 1970s.

We're talking Montana things move at their own pace here.  Anyway, in Franchise world there is variation.  I eat fast food maybe half a dozen times a year.  Have yet to be dissatisfied at this particular location, except once for stupid service.  Will wait till I get home to eat before I patronize the others.

Tea, hot or iced, is still tea.

Coffee, hot or iced, is still coffee.

Soft drinks are usually carbonated, but "-ade" beverages - usually citrus juice mixed with water and sweetener - are soft drinks.
"Sparkling Cider" is a soft drink, as opposed to "Cider" or "Hard Cider" which are alcoholic.
