Alpo Posted March 21, 2024 Posted March 21, 2024 How do you work it? I was watching a video. The guy had a clipboard in his hand, and while he was talking there was this clicking noise in the background. He had a German accent. Then his hand comes up into camera, and we see that the clicking noise is he is working the ballpoint pen while he is talking. And he's pushing the thing with his index finger. I have always used my thumb. So now I'm curious as to whether other people, here, use their finger. Or if maybe that's a European thing, and that's why this German guy was doing it that way.
Cypress Sun Posted March 21, 2024 Posted March 21, 2024 The hold depends upon if you're John Wick or not.
Subdeacon Joe Posted March 21, 2024 Posted March 21, 2024 Usually thumb, but sometimes index finger as I'm pulling it out of my shirt pocket. I'll also sometimes bump it against my thigh to retract it.

ShadowCatcher Posted March 21, 2024 Posted March 21, 2024 When we're teaching rifle shooting to new shooters we use the finger tip method to demonstrate how to press the trigger, hold the trigger back, and then allow the trigger forward to reset. It makes for a very easy visual aide.

Alpo Posted March 22, 2024 Author Posted March 22, 2024 You say you are irrigating yourself? You are incontinent?

Alpo Posted March 22, 2024 Author Posted March 22, 2024 I thought he had had too many intoxicating spirits and that's why he was irrigating himself. Isn't that what he said?

Hardpan Curmudgeon SASS #8967 Posted March 22, 2024 Posted March 22, 2024 I'll use my thumb. OR my own forehead. OR chin. Or cheek. Or any inanimate surface. Whatever works and is handy.
Alpo Posted March 23, 2024 Author Posted March 23, 2024 Do you suck on the nib, to make sure the ink is flowing before you start to write?

Ink dries and blocks the flow. Heat fixes that

Heat fixes that perhaps , ill try it , but some were just plain empty - we do use them a lot and seems someone is always "borrowing" them at the gunclub and they dont come back , not sure where most go but a few turn up in the parking lot run over , dont work well then either ...
