Thanks. The accelerator stuck. That’s not good at all. Glad no one was hurt.

She claimed.  We see it a couple times a year here at the old lady hair salon.

Our neighbor’s “accelerator stuck” and she drove through the wall of a store down the street. <_<

Years ago a guy up the road had a Belvidere with 426 Hemi, had a lot of work done to the engine.  His wife pull out of Dog and Suds and the carburetor linkage broke letting it go full throttle.  By the time she got it stopped,  it landed in a yard.  I don't think much body damage or property.  But remember them telling ever pushrod was bent.

I learned drive with a manual transmission. Rolling back was taboo, verboten, forbidden and would get you a slap in the head from your Dad or your friends.

You were probably also taught to stop so you could see the rear tires of the car in front of you on the ground. I was.

Yes. I am amazed how many people do not do this.

Yup, I was. However, I don't always do it. In some areas if everyone did it,traffic would be backed up for a mile! Gotta admit, it's saved me on occasion and not doing it has bit me!

And then there’s “the brakes failed”, which have miraculously repaired themselves by the post-crash inquiry. “I swear on my life that I had both feet on the brakes, but the car accelerated anyway!”

Happened to a little old lady in NE Texas

*Turns out a 98 year old lady pulled out of a parking lot of “The Hair Hut” business and struck a car and panicked and hit the gas. Poor thing! But her hair looked nice!

I had that happen with my 67 Mustang GTA with a 390. The shaft on the butterfly valve in the carburetor broke. I was able to get through two left turns and into a parking lot by turning the engine off and on! The tires were smoking at each turn!

When I lived in Concord, NC a family up the road from us had bought a house that faced the road that terminated at the front of their property at a 3 way stop.
They had several large and attractive boulders placed in their yard blocking the house from cars crashing into their home.
Shortly after that a pickup truck ran the stop sign and blasted into one of the big boulders. Within a year at least 3 vehicles did the same thing.
I saw the man that bought that house at the grocery store one day and he told me some county bureaucrat had been giving him grief about the boulders until the first crash. He never heard from the county man again.

Figures it's up north.

In Florida, it would be "Drive with pie".

Pecan pie for me.

Damn it, now I have to go get a pecan pie...in these Winter conditions!
