The only problem I see with this is that the wire tie needs to be further up the handle to get better leverage for the clamp.

Naw, it's still going to slide forward.

Dumbass rookie...even I know that you gotta have two sets of zip ties on either side of the crescent.

Just use the vice grips instead of the pliers. No crescent involved either way. Saves on tie wraps too!

I do have to admit that I have temporarily used a 500 MCM solderless lug on the negative post on a remote jobsite so I could get back to the shop. Van wouldn't start at the end of the day and the job was about 30 miles away from the shop. The old cable connector was so corroded that it just split off when I went to see how loose it was. I was a little more than irritated with the guy that normally drove that van, I only had it because my van was getting brakes done on it.

This was before cell phones and although there was a 2/way radio in the van... it was Friday, the end of the day, July in Florida and I wasn't in the mood to put up with anymore crap that day. Worked fine until it was repaired the next week.

But Vice grips don’t have insulated handles to keep them from shorting out on the chassis.

Reminded me of a tale I was told of introducing a lady to Tamales. She did not like them.

She was not told to remove the corn husk wrap. That is necessary and makes them good!

Otherwise, they are self-flossing.

This young lady told this story on herself. She said that she and a coworker went out to dinner at a place that was having an all-you-can-eat shrimp. And he ordered boiled shrimp.

When they arrived she said that she had tried them before and did not like them - they were too crunchy. And then she was stunned when he started peeling the shells off.

There is a scene in the movie Big, where Tom Hanks is eating some baby corn. And he's treating it like corn on the cob -carefully nibbling the kernels off of it.

There's a traditional Christmas stew in Puerto Rico. It has immature corn. Not baby corn but not quite rightRIPE either. And they take the ear and cut it into pieces about an inch and a half long and drop them in the stew. So when I got this, and I saw those chunks of corn, and I remembered how stupid Tom Hanks looked nibbling the kernels off that baby corn, so I spoon that piece of corn up and stuck it in my mouth and chewed it up. Crunch crunch crunch.

I was not impressed.

Then a lady sits down across the table from me and she takes one of those pieces of corn out of her bowl, and holding it between her fingers she bites the kernels off of it. Then she puts the piece of cob down on the table.

And I learned. When eating a food New To You, if at all possible, watch somebody else eat it first.

And I would have done the same thing if I had been given tamales. I have never eaten any but I have seen them. And no one ever told me you're supposed to take the corn husk off.

We're 76 miles from Galveston, straight down I-45 until you get to the Gulf.

We eat more than our share of shrimp, and I find this and the tamale story almost unbelievable!

I bet she's a hoot during crawfish season!

Friend of mine got himself a Russian wife. And a 15-year-old Russian stepdaughter at the same time.

When they arrived, he made a big feast to welcome them. One of the things he did was shrimp on skewers cooked on the grill.

And they just looked at them. His new bride did not speak much English, but the girl was fairly fluent. And she looks up at him and says, "We do not eat bugs".

I DO!!!

Grilled, fried, boiled, scampied, stuffed, creole, and all the other Cajun ways, yes, I eat bugs.

But, just to clear the water, Mud Bugs are crawfish. I eat them, too!
